Scozza, pretty sure you were on the thread where I was subject to derogatory comments based on my ethnic background by another member on this forum, who subsequently got banned. That was racism, so it has happened around you.

Agreed and I said it earlier while he had his knee on his neck and the other cops formed a barrier they probably thought they had the situation under control. I'm not using that as an excuse by the way, far from it, IT WAS WRONG!
What I'd like to understand is how did presenting fake bank notes in a shop lead to this. Surely the shop keeper would just not accept them, what happened that caused the police to be called?

I don't think the police officer who was kneeling on floyds neck, woke up thinking of murder but, during the ordeal' he was seen kneeling down harder, even after bystanders told him that floyd was dying. Even a paramedic lost his temper with said policeman when he arrived on the scene.
The police kept telling floyd to get up and get in the car, even though three of them were on top of him. Floyd was also motionless without a pulse for the last 3 mins of the restraint. One of those *******s must have realised he wasn't breathing.
The policeman who knelt on floyds neck has a very shadey past in the force, and probably should have been fired way back.
His colleague, the one who looks chinese or mixed chinese race, also has a similar record in the force.
There was no need for such restraint, floyd fell or dived to the floor as some police claim but' he was not struggling or being violent.
The officer who did the kneeling and floyd served different shifts as security, maybe they have history, and the policeman took action against floyd while he had backup instead of facing him alone.
Whatever the reason, the man, black, brown, yellow, pink or white' did not deserve to die in that way.
I read yesterday, that the neck restraint method has caused at least 40 incidents where suspects have passed out, and other medical issues have taken place during restraint. Why didn't they taser him instead.
I hope all the police involved get what they deserve.

I don't think he'll be charged with 1st degree either. But he should be convicted of 2nd degree murder as it's clear his actions killed a man.
Keebs, I have to disagree. We are not born racist. We do have instinctive fears but we also have instinctive curiosity about difference. Look at the way children are with each other and how they will happily play with anyone regardless of colour or creed. Racism is a learned behaviour - which means it can be addressed if enough of us keep trying.

Agree with all of that, but what you describe is 2nd degree murder as far as I'm aware. Intentional, but not premeditated. Still carries a hefty sentence luckily

Thomas Sowell is a genius, and extremely clever man, I've read most of his books. Not only is he clear minded, he is able to explain statistics and economics to make it understandable, a bit like Richard Feynman. And being a black man, he see through the bullpoo that's being said by the white liberals. The white do goody liverals do more harm than good, and he goes into that it detail.
Sadly though i don't think the Antifa ridden education systems and social platforms will allow this black voice to be heard in future!
There is nothing worse than some white liberal teacher who thinks he is a hippy trying to even SLIGHTLY understand black men and what they aspire to.

Hundreds of little girls get gang raped too, but hardly even a whisper.... It's not funny anymore is it.

just seen on the News that he will be charged with 2nd degree
The others who were present also being charged with aiding and abetting I think

We do have instinctive fears but we also have instinctive curiosity about difference.
Depends on the individual. If we were all the same our species would not exist we need people with different personalities and traits to survive. For example we need risk takers to get thing done and non risk takers to take their place when they die from the dangers they put themselves in. We need natural leaders to lead and others who are happy to be told. We will have people who are wary of people who are different from themselves and others who are not.
Just a few the list goes on.
As for racism being learned my father in law was a racist and so is his son by his daughter is not. How did one learn it and not the other? Different personalities?

I'd agree with that tinhead - I'd put it simply that we need 'different' living together.
If only the world could see it that way.
edit - Learned behaviour is dependent on lots of factors. We learn from lots of sources and our own feelings and thoughts are that individual factor. Some people will follow suit and some will kick against.

They would have both "learned" it in your words, from their racist father. One accepted that's the way to be and one rejected it.

Or more importantly they were born with different personalities and traits.
