Maybe we should all do a zoom call.
Obviously it isn't and like scozza says, there's generations of it going on. I mentioned my mums a retired teacher and some of the kids plans were to get pregnant at 15/16 so they can get a council house, etc. Encouraged by their parents.
Removing benefits and implementing some form of stamp system that means you can claim differing amounts depending on what you've put in via taxes would be a fair way to do it. So if you've paid 20 years in taxes and need the support whilst looking for a new job you can get a decent amount not a pittance so your bills can be paid or whatever. If you haven't paid any taxes then you get next to nothing, encouraging you to find work.

So were saying the area where people live is not beneficial for their future, I tend to agree
There is a distinct lack of job opportunities. I agree
People do not have the education or skills to fill the jobs that are available?

Sounds like the easiest option to me
Jokes aside. I think it's a valid point though, there is a LOT more for governments to acknowledge and look into, more than just what people alone can influence sadly

Those are valid questions but the answers could be changed.
The area where people live is not beneficial to there future. Leave then.
Lack of jobs. Again, leave.
If there is jobs available in the area, educate yourself to apply for them rather than blaming the system or colour of your skin.

I don't doubt for one minute that we have real poverty in this country but I do believe we have people that plead poverty but a look into their lifestyles tells a different story.
For those with nothing to do and no structure in their life they may be the type of person who occupies their time by watching Netflix/Sky smoking drinking even possibly betting. They might be the person who's fallen into a rut and can't be bothered to cook anymore and eats unhealthily. Now I'm not for one minute saying this is the case for all people out of work but I know these type of people exist. For them they have never known a life without what I've mentioned and to them they see them as basic everyday needs rather than luxuries. Those type of people mask the figures and take away resources needed for real genuine people in poverty.

The majority of poverty in the UK is like an amazing life in 3rd world countries.......

I think there is a problem with wages, where work doesn't pay enough so the incentive to work is reduced. That's not to say that benefits should be reduced but I'd like to see a review of the in-work benefits which are in many cases basically subsidies of the private sector. There's more than one way of ‘sponging off the state'.

Business competition and all. I will make one comment, China, and leave it at that, there are not many companies that can compete in the market place and pay decent wages, since they seriously exploit their people and pay them peanuts which in turn has a knock on effect to the rest of the world
