Doesn't really seem to be the case with the death penalty in the US, does it?
Mind you, no doubt the re-introduction of the death penalty would walk it at a referendum on the subject. Lawyers' fees, appeals and the possibility of killing innocent people ... who cares? Focus on the headlines, worked with brexit.

I don't know. If you got hanged for killing a copper in all states of the US then it might make a difference.

Went to school with and know some Somalian lads. They've had a tough ride. Some seen their parents killed in front of them, one trod on a land mine and lost his leg, abuse, domestic violence..
Not defending terrorists, but you can see why some somalians are nuts.

Quiet all over because of internal investigations I presume. As scozza said one or a number of officers have properly f'd up. Scozza will likely be able to get the exacts from his other half but police procedure when finding ammunition is to call in firearms officers to the scene and carry out more than a quick search on scene in case a firearm is present. Doesn't seem like that happened from what's been reported.

Don't dispute that Jon, watched a program the other night on the place, horrendous, murder is a daily occurrence. Loads in Sheffield, loads of trouble too.
There's nuts and terrorism, slashing each other up with a knife because they don't know any difference is one thing. Terrorism and hate for our society and our people is another

Edit- the copy of the mail at the in-laws place says he is believed to be Sri Lankan and had been in contact with a program to prevent vulnerable people being radicalised. Possible links to right wing and Islamist terrorism but no evidence for them to charge or investigate further.
