Just because it hadn't been raised on here up to now doesn't mean some of us have not been outraged.
Better off saving money and hanging these types but as that's not going to happen I support PC Harper's wife. Life sentence should be life.

Absolutely. I heard the news on the drive home from work and was disgusted. Regardless of nationality or colour. A criminal shot a police officer and that is awful. THAT is a fact. I thought Prince Charles spoke well at the memorial service for Police officers
I'm not in agreement on the death penalty but I can see why some people are. Obviously it doesn't sit right with me. And our police, conviction, judicial and legal systems are just too imperfect to be the basis for a 100 per cent certainty. Perhaps that's a different debate.

It's no more than 15-20 mins from me and somewhere I've lived.. I did say before that knives and guns are rife round this way, I wasn't wrong

If life meant life then it would depend on how old the prisoner was and how many years he will live.
£37,500 for a 'normal' prison per year and £63,000 for a top security.
Besides the hanging might be a deterrent to some?
