Change made
On 27 March 2020, the French government extended the confinement period for at least a further two weeks, until 15 April 2020. (‘Summary' and ‘Coronavirus' pages)

My ribiere trip on the 11th apr has now been moved to Aug following the extension of the movement restrictions in France.

At least I didn't lose all my money and need to have try and claim on insurance.

At this rate we'll be lucky if this is over by August, I just can't see and end to it all.

If were still in this mess in August we'll be in such a bad way that our way of life will be changing significantly.... fishing will not be on our minds.

I'd like to think 6 weeks of restrictions, maybe longer in places like London, will see us through the worst.

Within a week from now we'll have stricter movement controls due to the idiots still ignoring requests to stay inside. Focus will be on the virus hotspots.

I wouldn't rearrange anything for this year. Even though we should see improvement here within the next 6 to 10 weeks I can see all non-essential foreign travel banned for quite a while..

foreign travel is not banned, the borders are open but currently France has travel restrictions ( no holidays!) for another 3 weeks so that'll take it to April 15th ish.

Non essential travel in the UK is however 'banned' and you can get a £30 fine for ignoring this and the police may instruct you to go home, take you home etc with discretion and common sense.

I've a 2nd week in May date that will have to be taken mid November if pushed back. Now thats going to be a cold week but hopefully no issues that late in the year.

Anyone who thinks they will be going anywhere in Europe before the latter half of this year is seriously deluded ! The current restrictions will not be discussed to be lifted until there's a massive decline in the number of infections and even then travel restrictions will not be lifted overnight . I hope I'm wrong as I've trips booked for June , August , Oct and Nov . Realistically I'm thinking the Nov trip might be ok ...

We have a house in SW France and flights booked for Easter (now cancelled), May, July, August and October. God knows how many of those trips will be cancelled, at least it gives the Carp a chance!!!
