Be a shame if they are, it's awesome seeing them hitting bait fish on summer evenings. Be some job removing them all, there are plenty in there. I know a few have found their way into wild boar which they are trying to get out

Thats the plan. They have plenty of other lakes and they are going into one of these. Watch the weights of these KIngy carp fly now that they get to eat all the boilies that go in there. Catfish in a carp lake doesn't work.

Cats in a carp lake don't work? Hasn't done them any harm in there so far. Plenty of big fish coming out. Real shame they are removing the cats, was considering another go for them myself next year.

It doesn't do the carp any favours, of course it doesn't effect the catfish growth. Most carp anglers don't want to be catching kittens either when the bloody things breed. If you want to catch cats fish a lake catfish lake or the Ebro.

Kingfisher was a catfish lake when I fished it... It was always known as the cat lake. Its always done decent carp too. There's plenty of 50s and 60s come out of there so it's done the carp no harm imo

I'm booked on for next year and I was looking forward to catching some big cats if I could...

Will have to make do with the carp then!

I wonder how many people booked it to fish for the cats and now have to put up with them being removed?

yes people, mostly German/dutch booked it to fish for the cats,, but now that they are being removed bookings have gone through the roof because people know the potential that it has once the carp get to eat all the bait that goes in there. There were a couple of people who'd booked who wanted there money back but that was nothing compared to the increase from people wanting to get on there once the cats were gone.

Fair enough, shame for those people who had their holidays messed up for them though. Are they going into another lake that they can be fished for?

Any idea what the biggest they have removed is? I must have been unlucky with them, they used to say the average was about 80-95lb but in the 10 I had from there the biggest was only mid 60s

no idea, I was over there in may when Dave told me all about the removal, id guess that if you email Abbey asking where and when they can be fished for they'd soon put you right.

I guess so, just thought you might be in with them seeing as you seem to know a bit about it. I know dave is sound so he'd probably give good info, more so than seb when he told me there are no crays in wild boar . Lake is riddled with the things
Are you sure?
