TBH that wouldn't normally be something I'd listen to but I do understand about singing with emotion. That's why I hate such things as the X Factor where they are only looking for pitch perfect generic singers, it's just well done Karaoke really.

Ah - a bit of Brecht...

Theatre genius and Threepenny Opera is a classic. And of course with Nina's voice, it's hard not to love ANY song.

An aquaintance of mine - (not quite a friend but someone I've been lucky to know and spend time with) wrote the music for the National theatre version of Mother Courage a few years back. It was a brilliant production and his music is, as always, excellent.

Love Faustus - brilliant play. simple scenario that explores the human condition and the Helen of Troy 9is this the face that launched a thousand ships) speech is brilliant.

Lots of Duke Special stuff out there to explore. His live shows are great. Eclectic Victoriana and a band of real musicians who play for the love of playing. I can absolutely recommend. He's a lovely bloke to boot

Used to cover 'Out in the fields' in my first band and can remember learning the riff to 'Since you been gone' when i got my first guitar... happy days!

I got into them as they made the switch from scary goths to straight ahead rockers. Saw them on the 'Electric' tour. The audience was a mix of denim and leather against black polo necks and crosses... brilliant!
