The LA riots in 92 were pretty rough. Over 60 dead, only stopped when the National Guard were called in.
Get them in now I say.
Oh how about the riots on LA in the 60s, they were pretty rough too.
Actually there's been riots in The States for many many decades, it really does not matter who is president they will always happen.
These riots are nothing to do with Trump, he just happens to be the current president. But there again I am looking at it without any political ideology, just looking for what it is.

more power to them I say. Towns with a predominantly white middle class demographic need to show their support in the same way as anywhere else.

The US defence secretary has opposed the sending in of military troops - a bit of sense prevailing there. As a wise man once said, 'violence begets violence' and the people closest to George Floyd are continually asking for a peaceful approach.

And Confederate statues are coming down - some organised with town / city officials rathe than just being torn down. Some positive change is happening at least

I'm listening to the one show now. We need to look at racism and gun crimes, I am totally with it, the biggest battle is the dickheads carrying the guns and knives in the first place, would you want to deal with them?

If you are dealing with people who are tooled up, I'm sorry but the first thing you need to protect is yourself, **** protocol and regulations when it comes down to the crunch. What happened is terrible but more is coming out as it goes along. What the officer did was a racist and dominant act as I see it on TV. I can tell you this though. You're right mate - It does go on everyday - that's the point.

The problem is that it will continue to go on everyday unless people come together to do something about it. Something needs to change and I absolutely hope that this might be a turning point.

If you just shrug your shoulders and say 'it happens all the time / it's been happening for years / people will never change' etc. then you're not part of the solution - which makes you part of the problem. (not YOU specifically - you get my point yeah?)

Think I might get 5,000 to smash Leeds up because in South Africa somebody got beat up by a black man today. Same perspective to me. It's got virtually nothing to do with people over here, I can't see that we have the same problems?

being a teacher I encourage people to look beyond their own 'circles' - ignorance is bliss if your life is comfortable. it's still ignorance though.

My underlying point which I did not mention, I thought was obvious, we are in lockdown, thousands are dying and the world is protesting. A lot of this is purely down to unrest for me

I've had two young black men stay at my house (not at the same time) and they were both disrespectful, pity you weren't there to tell them what they were doing was wrong, I won't go into detail unless you ask but both did not have father figures in their lives and they weren't about to listen to me. Needless to say they do have racial problems.

So I don't live in a bubble which maybe is the impression I'm giving.

I think the social deprivation, education and the lack of jobs is one of the main motivations sadly

Extremely difficult one to tackle but if everybody had an opportunity in life a lot of people would be in a different place for me

If you want more info and facts re racism in the US then go on U tube and watch The Rubin Report, Black Lives Matter with Larry Elder.
If you want to know what Trump has done, so far, for blacks and other minorities then watch ABC News Senator Tim Scott on Biden's You ain't black comment.
Those two have other vids on the issue as have Dr Thomas Sowell and Candace Owens.
And by the way, they are all black.
