Are you a football fan Noj, do you know in this fiasco they consider the Spuds to be a big club, maybe an element of truth back in 1962. On that basis they should consider Preston North End
Latest news is that many of the executives are resigning from their UEFA posts to make way for this super league, this is more of a goer than I first thought.

So predictable. What on earth possessed Spurs employing a busted flush I just don't know. Lovely pay off Jose. Great work if you can get it, and boy, did those plonkers fall for it.
Seems the only people in favour of the ESL are the greedy club owners. If I was playing for one of the 'Dirty Dozen' and was being told by doing so would mean not being able to represent my country I would be off! If the players disagree with all of this then where does that leave the club?
More worrying is that as from tomorrow all players and teams could be banned from all competitions including the Premier League which would leave Leicester and West Ham to fight it out.

Told you not to worry bout him jimmer. No surprise at all. People might put up with his awful style of football if they are winning -
Chelsea (1st time round) - but when it's **** results AND **** football, then what's the point?
As for the ESL... the hypocrisy of the premier league and UEFA is hilarious. 'It's all about greed and money' .... just like the premier league and just like the champions league. There was a guy on the radio talking about money spoiling the traditions of the game and totally missing the irony when he talked about the big six abandoning the 'Carabao Cup' (not been the good old fashioned 'League cup' for a while. Meanwhile the champions league is expanded - for football reasons? Yeah right. And the premier league looks on while their beloved football pyramid sees more and more clubs go into administration.
Lots of posturing and threats that are probably in breach of so many contract and employment laws (banning teams / players etc.)
The premier league throwing out those clubs? As if. That's like someone trying to sell a car when they've taken all the wheels off and replaced the engine with an elastic band. Hands up who's forking out for sky sports to watch palace vs Norwich.....
Yes it's about making money. But the pragmatic truth of the world is that these clubs generate way more money than most others and people will happily pay more to watch the likes of Messi and Ronaldo than they will for Jordan Pickford. Football stopped being purist a long time ago.

Just been watching Sky News. Some Labour women got up and blamed the Tories for the Super League!
Why the need for constant political point scoring. Both sides are against it so why not put aside their differences and unite together against it.

Wouldn't say I'm keen on it, just can't be doing with all the hypocrisy and melodrama
Man Utd fans on the radio while I was driving home saying they've phoned to cancel their season ticket renewal... they weren't complaining when sky and the birth of the premier league pumped millions into old Trafford were they? (I'm sure it's the same for other clubs and fans too) Or when Nike or whoever pay millions to have a name on a shirt.
From my reading, none of the clubs involved have said they don't want to continue playing in domestic leagues or UEFA competition.
I'm just a bit more realist I guess.
These are now huge businesses who have lost millions in the pandemic and there's finance and a model for recouping that loss that they are looking at. My club came dangerously close to bankruptcy a few years back so romantic notions of 100 years of old men in flat caps smoking woodbines probably carries less clout than JP Morgan's offer

Yep - it's ok for us to rinse the game but not for someone else to do it....
And as for Boris and co.... bunch of turds. Genuine global companies based in England trying to do big business post Brexit.... we can't have that. Unless we've got shares in it of course....

Of course they want to carry on playing domestically, they want to pocket more money, they will just play their reserves in premier league games instead of their first team, which in effect will devalue the premier league, and then the so called smaller clubs will be hit where it hurts.
I genuinely hope the other 14 clubs call their bluff on it, kick them out and say get on with it if that's what you want, but wr will see what means more, their values or their balance sheets.....
