I have never seen as much gaslighting going on in politics as i am now , the establishment is rattled ! it has to sustain the right wing agenda and popular support of the idiots ! yet not make it look too obvious , it's a tightrope !

Got a Black-American friend living over in Alabama he's got the Confederate flag flying outside his house, asked him once when I was over there why he was still flying the flag. His answer was because I'm a southerner and bloody proud of it.

Shame he didn't tell his minions they would a) get a good hiding and b) make the country he apparently defends a worldwide laughing stock.

Hi Bob,
I wonder if many on here know that the southern Confederate States that operated and defended slavery were Democrats. After the Republican north won the civil war and abolished slavery, it was the southern Democrats that introduced the Jim Crow segregation laws and started the KKK. A Confederate general was one of their first Grand Wizards.
Noj,
As reprehensible as those people may be, they don't represent the vast majority of the general public, who are regarded world wide as respectable, fair-minded people.
There are extremists at both ends of the spectrum.

The US Union president when the civil war was won and slavery was abolished nationally was a Democrat.

Hi Ocelot,
Lincoln was the first president after the civil war and was inaugurated in 1861.
After his assassination, a string of Republican presidents were in office until 1885 when a Democrat, Grover Cleveland was inaugurated 24 years later.
BB.
Edit.
Jim Crow laws were state and local laws that enforced racial segregation in the Southern United States. All were enacted in the late 19th and early 20th centuries by white Democratic-dominated state legislatures to disenfranchise and remove political and economic gains made by blacks during the Reconstruction period

A Democrat president succeeded Lincoln in 1865, 6 days after the ending of the civil war. Served a full 4 years

Hi Ocelot,
The first Democrat elected after the Civil War in 1885, our 22nd and 24th President Grover Cleveland was the only President to leave the White House and return for a second term four years later (1885-1889 and 1893-1897).

BB - you're doing it again....
missing the point
Historical Democrat racists or historical Republican racists have one major thing in common.... can you work out what it is yet?
I know you like watching videos - can I suggest watching the one that Ken Townley posted the link to earlier on this thread? It's really very good.
And you do realise that every time you try to excuse racist behaviour in the US with a set of statistics it makes it look increasingly like you are excusing racism? You're not are you?
as for Tommy Robinson and his little nazi's - Noj makes a very compelling argument....
vile little creature is about right
