Where have you seen that? I can't see anything that says you need to in France, only U.K.

Not seen that anywhere. Just checked the uk gov website and it says uk travellers do no not need to quarantine after entering france..
This may change though if France do a reciprocal requirement response to our change.

France Euro minister put on twitter last night that they will put a reciprocal arrangement in place. Only time will tell if they do.
Certainly with our Gov stating essential travel only then our insurances will be invalid for a holiday fishing trip.

So "IF" we have to quarantine in France is this acceptable to be done around a lake with no one else around?
And would the French frown upon people travelling back a week into a 14 day quarantine?

Quarantineing at a lake seemed to be acceptable last time. Can't imagine returning early would be a problem the French authorities will probably be glad to get rid of you but, you never really know till you stand in front of them at the border.
Let's hope they don't reciprocate but with all these things the devil is in the detail.

Government are advising Essential Travel only and a form needs to be completed looking at the Eurotunnel website, although their site is pretty bloody useless, as are their phones! Appreciate they will be busy but trying to get hold of them to see what the options are is a joke.
We have standard tickets which arent refundable, we are able to move dates online but not to next year.... anyone aware what they tend to do here? I feel they would give a voucher to be used in a year but it'd be good to see what others have experienced.

I have had no problem with moving dates up to 12 months, just speak to them on the phone when you can usually very helpful.

You don't need to self-isolate if you travel through a non-exempt country and you don't stop in the country.
If you do make a stop, you don't need to self-isolate if:
no new people get into the vehicle
no-one in the vehicle gets out, mixes with other people, and gets in again
You do need to self-isolate if you make a stop and:
new people get into the vehicle, or
someone gets out of the vehicle, mixes with other people and gets in again

The phone lines are naturally horrendous at the minute. Good to know that they will move it for you up to 12 months though, thanks. I did try on the site but it just states future dates arent available. Guess I will keep trying to get through then

It's 12 months from date of purchase not from the date you are traveling. They were offering vouchers that had to be used again 12 months from original purchase but the booking date could be after that.
