Nice to see burns get some runs, but I won't be surprised if 5 of that top 7 miss the India series
Surrey have started the t20s in seriously good form

Agree with Burns but even he should have left that 2nd ball. And as good as he looks Pope needs to start pushing on when he gets in. Good that all the t20 games are on youtube.

I don't know what's going wrong with pope, he's got all the talent, regularly goes big for Surrey, but just keeps "doing a vince" looking great then getting out in the 20s or 30s for england
No chance for anyone to work on there game with only a couple of red ball games in july and none in june
Mind you, the hundred might help sibley learn a shot other than the tentative nudge to the leg side

So that went well...

Trouble is it's excuse after excuse.
NZ had players from IPL so why didn't ours play?
Seems to me that the batters struggle to come out of t20 mode with some of the shots seen, absolutely no discipline.
Yet the Kiwis showed how and when to leave and they all play t20.
Whatever Giles has bought in clearly is not working we will struggle against India as well as the Aussies.

What a shocker
You lose an entire squad to covid isolation and Hales still can't get in
The batting lineup looks pretty strong, the bowling looks a lot weaker tho

I wonder who's made the decision there, Giles or Morgan.
Shame though, would walk into most other teams, probably the most destructive opener in world cricket.
Mind you Jacks will fancy a shot at the title, he's been outstanding for Surrey the past couple of years

No doubt Morgans had a say but Hales deserves another chance and if Morgan don't like it there's the door but they ain't got the balls to do that.

I'm in two minds on it tbh, it sends a strong message to young players
But when he's on form he's devastating, I love watching him bat.
I hope they stick with the formula tomorrow, stick Jacks and salt up top and try and milk the power play, I'd probably go vince at 3, malan at 4 provided stokes can bowl
I'm surprised Crawley made the squad, and also surprised Sam hain didnt

Been watching Jacks, his bat speed and timing are some of best i have seen in over 40 years of watching and playing cricket. Would love to see him open with Salt. Sadly i don't think we will see Hales in an England shirt again and as you say he will walk into most teams.

That knock in the early t20s was phenomenal, 15 ball 50
when you see the opening partner trying to get singles to get him on strike you know he's good, then when you realise it's Jason Roy trying to give him the strike
Probably a year too soon for him but hell have a big future regardless of how this series pans out
Bit of a golden arm too
Might need a few overs from him, and briggs will probably make the team as another bowling option, I can't see stokes bowling 10
