See I heard that by laying it in water and letting the spool spin the way it wants it reduces line twist as it can untwist itself as you reel it on.
I do it the Gardner way, soak, weight underwater and reel on. It's worked for me. I've had the line on for 3yrs now as I am awaiting my custom reels to return before spooling them up. I've got some twist but I just walk out 100yd tied to a bankstick and pulled tight as this covers the maximum distance I might fish on the waters I am. Back winding essential and something I've learnt to do more recently after years of resisting it!! Helps no end.

My reels have a line twist buster built in them and in the manufacturers instructions it actually says to spool the line on the way i have said to get the best results and stop line twist. I only soak the line for 10mins or so just to make it supple. Only if you let it soak for hours on end it will affect the line cause it will absorb water and once it is put on it will shrink back causing it to frap up. If you have found a line and a method of spooling up which works for you stick to it. Iv learnt over the years by chopping and changing lines and now i only use GTHD and its perfect for my style of fishing. Its all personal preference really

The reason i asked you was because a couple of years ago i spoke to lewis about several gardner lines gthd and pro blend were amongst them he recommended your way for some but thare was one line he said got less line twist loading it coming off the end of the spool, but i cant remember which one it was.

Line twist comes from the bairrunner function. Remember Gibbo from years ago in CW. Done to death and explained away. Nowt to do with the line type.

I have been using GT80+ in clear for a few years and no issues at all. My old reels (Tournament 5000T) do say they have TwistBuster but no idea if that really works. Only change line at the end of each year so get a good 12 months and a spool fills 3 reels with no backing. Hope this helps
