To my knowledge any phone can be located by signal. Maybe not to 1m2 but very small area.

They use something called Triangulation but it's not normally used unless it's really justifiable like tracking down terrorists etc.
They measure the phone signals from 3 or more cell towers and where it intersects is where you are

I am due out next Saturday not sure the 14 day quarantine will be lifted by then.

I can't go in to 14 days quarantine.

I don't know how the two week isolation will be policed anyway.
Also I can't see it lasting for long as the travel industry is collapsing at the moment and it can't be sustained the way it is.
I really can't see it lasting long and I think if your off next week for a week you will probably be just fine.

We I hope so anyway.

Nothing to be relaxed before the 29th June at the earliest. I work in travel and we've been given assurances that air bridges will start to be opened up from then as long as the pandemic is still under control..

Other thing to think about is if an area (Manchester/ London/ Liverpool etc) is under local lockdown due to a spike in cases you may be advised to return home by border control and quarantine rather than be able to travel..

Have you had any more contact from them
Regarding self quarantining out of interest? I'm away a week Friday and wondered how strict they are being with it ? Thanks
Are you sure?
