I'd be amazed if all this quarantine business isn't all cancelled after the 1st 3 wk review due to the amount of pressure the government is under from travel and tourism bodies. The Home secretary was adjusting the legislation for it yesterday in the house of commons before it's even come into force!! Cant see it lasting at all if I'm honest.

I don't think any body really knows how it will be on the 8th June when it's due to come into force and then when its reviewed 3 weeks later. It is interesting to note that our current daily death rate is 10 times that in most EU countries so why would they want us in at the moment.

Similarly, travellers coming from the United Kingdom, regardless of nationality, will be requested to carry out voluntary quarantine once the British quarantine measures officially enter into force.

Most anglers only go for a week to 10 days. Does that mean you have to stay in France for a minimum of 14 days ? If you travel to and from a venue in that 14 day window, surely that means you haven't complied with the 14 day quarantine?

It's voluntary. No need to quarentine here in France for UK anglers. I thought this part of the French government website statement was quite clear.

The website says 14 days quarantine. Voluntary or not,where would someone stand if they tried to travel back before the 14 day period? Would the french authorities stop the journey home? Would they then force a further 14 days?

If it's voluntary the French would do nothing....it's voluntary. If something is voluntary and you don't do it then it's your choice. You can say to people " it's up to you if you quarentine or not" and then when they don't say" oh you haven't quarentined so you need to stay here for a other week or two".

I would imagine they'd rather you left the country than go stay in a hotel somewhere where there will be more chance of giving it to someone.

Anyone due to travel within the next few weeks who is still travelling
As I know few lakes in france have confirmed booking
Also I have been told some if the lakes are allowing french anglers on the lakes during the travel ban these are English run lakes

Isn't the border still closed with the 100km travel limit in place for the French.
I know it is hoped this will be lifted shortly but I thought it is currently still in place.
