The French Prime Minister is to address the country this Thursday (May 28) to detail the second phase of deconfinement, including whether bars and restaurants will reopen, and if travel beyond 100km will be allowed.
A new colour map - updated from the previous one published on May 7 - will show which departments will be considered “green” or “red” for the purposes of the next stage of deconfinement.
This is based on three criteria in the given department: how much the virus is spreading, how stretched the local intensive care services are, and how many tests are available for the general public.
According to predictions made by news service FranceInfo, it is suggested that come June 2, only Île-de-France might still be in red.
The rule that limits travel to within 100km of your home (as the crow flies) may change on June 2. Junior transport minister Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne said in an interview this week that “a significant expansion” of this radius may be possible.

With EasyJet commencing flights from UK to France from 15th June, maybe they'll include an update this Thursday on travel into France for tourism.

Stay there in France until the isolation rules have been scrapped, my guess will be that will be 3 weeks after they are officially in place. I am off golfing in Spain on 5th July and no plans to go into self isolation when I return, thanks Dom, all is clear now!

Latest info below. I wouldn't worry about UK quarentine. The rules are a mess and no one will follow them anyway.

The only way we'll be going to France is either for 3 weeks (including 2 weeks at a single indoor location) or by the UK lifting the restrictions.
The voluntary quarantine is only for "returning French citizens and permanent residents arriving from outside the European Union and the European Economic Area, which includes the U.K. and Switzerland":

Hopefully, the government see sense and remove the 14 day quarantine. I know the Travel Industry is putting a lot of pressure on the government, but I can't see any changes being made until mid July at the earliest.

This is rather tongue in cheek but you can avoid the uk quarrantine if you fly from paris to dublin, then dublin to the uk. Nuts or what? But if you are really desperate............

So if I'm reading this right the French quarantine is going to be mandatory rather than voluntary now for us if we visit.
That completely screws any chance of going on a week's trip to a lake in Limoges in 3 weeks time unless the UK changes its plan before then....

Correct. We are in the same boat with an italy trip planned for 25th June. The next major decision date is 15th, hopefully Boris will buck up and bin the quarrantine so the eu can reciprocate
