To be fair to the youngsters it wasn't as bad as the scoreline looks.
They played pretty well. Were the better team up until the 1st two goals. The difference was villas experience and finishing. Definitely some faces to look out for in the future. Good possession and pressing. Youngest team Liverpool have ever fielded in a 1st team competition.
We play again this evening in the world cup with the proper 1st team. Hoping for a win but more hoping for no injuries. ..
Minamino is in for his medical today. He'll be a good signing for us. Still think we need cover at full back too.

Yeah. They've changed the format of it since then I think but it's basically the same trophy.
Be nice to add it to the trophy cabinet but it's two extra games at a mad busy time.

Bloody stupid timing to play this , young lads did well last night , it was villas only chance of winning anything and they rightly fielded a strong team.Hope klopp does,nt go all out to win this and **** up the title !! Jan and feb are a notoriously bad time for klopp with every team he has managed.

At least both Man City and Leicester are both playing in the league cup tonight. If they both go through, which is likely, it'll add to their fixtures in January / February while we'll at least be done with this one by Saturday night.
Rubbish scheduling and a shame that the league cup suffers as a result. I've some good memories of us winning it

Well that was not the most convincing win, but we're through to the final.
Hendo won't be worrying vvd for that centre back spot once he's well again but fair play to him, he did a job.
