That's cos the seasonal fruit pickers are held captive on the farm they go to and aren't allowed to go anywhere else so they say they quarantine where they work.

Don't forget to quarantine yourself for 14 days upon arriving back in the UK.
Oh, did you know that Belgium has the worst Covid 19 outbreak in Europe? The death rate per million is nearly twice that of the UK. They may well be a smaller country and their overall numbers significantly lower than ours but their death rate is the second worst in the world (were the 5th worst hit country btw).
Let's hope that this diplomatic row gets sorted quiçkly and our government works with our EU partners to resolve the situation.

My utter frustration over all this quarantine is that I have been in work amongst 250 other key workers through out this lockdown and that's been ok with the goverment but now I want to go to france sit next to a lake away from society i have to quarantine when I get back so dos this apply to key workers as it was ok at the height of the pandemic

The following people will be exempt from voluntary quarantine, except if they show symptoms:
- people in transit to another country;
Yeah, because people who have an onward flight 24 hours after arriving at Heathrow sit in the hotel room, of course they don't go to see Big Ben and the "big wheel"...

My local farm bus about 30 of them to the local Aldi every week
. When they aren't working, they are roaming the streets.

Brits won't do it. Those here for business won't do it. Those here on holiday won't do it. Those onward travelling won't do it. Those who fly here to get onto cargo ships won't do it.... completely futile exercise and will not be monitored.
Those who arrive on dinghy's in the channel get their details taken and told to go to Croydon in two weeks time to claim asylum.

It's an interesting one this as it's voluntary. For a normal one week trip you will declare yourself back at French customs at Calais within the 14 day quarantine period. You'll be at the mercy of the French border authorities at this point having breached the request to isolate. Perhaps they will simply say go home or perhaps they won't 😂
This of course also relies on the French lifting the 100k travel restrictions on 15 June.
