33000 deaths isn't scare mongering, if we had not had a lockdown the scientists (you know, people that learnt and studied virology) think we may have had 500000 deaths due to Covid 19 with the NHS overwhelmed.

Do you think the whole pandemic is a plan to control the people? The NHS response and nightingale hospitals a scam to control you as well?

This is going to stop any french travel as it looks like france are going to make uk travellers quarantine for 2 weeks on arrival and as we cannot provide an address we will be either put in hotel or turned back I am due out in 6 weeks os hopefully the virus rate drop enough for us to go or they introduce this air bridging what amazes me is the seasonal workers like strawberry pickers are exempt what's that all.about, that's it I am going strawberry picking in france
We must control this virus but allowing people to travel unlimited distances as only made a complete joke of this situation you only got to look at beaches parks and other beauty spots
And we not allowed to sit on our own next to a lake in france
Rant over

I feel the same way I was due out 13th June but moved travel to the 15th which would have been fine if the French allowed travel. A friend asked me last night did I really want to travel to France , my response was I would more then likely catch it over here sat on a beach with half naked people or going to the supermarket then I would sitting in my van getting there then sat on lake with one other person.

You mean the scientists working for the government. 0.25% chance of contracting the virus.

Sounds like the French are doing a tit for tat 14 day quarantine. Not surprising, but 100pc rules out June fishing holiday.

Just seen the French are bringing in a reciprocal 14 day quarantine that will mirror ours that comes in on 8th June.
I think this means my trip on 20th June is finally dead in the water.
We'd have to have a building to isolate in for 14 days which obviously just isn't possible.

Absolute idiocy from the UK government. I am sick of being treated like a child. Coronavirus is on the way out. If we needed to quarantine arrivals into the UK for 2 weeks then that needed to be done 2 months ago, not just as we are seeing the end of this. there's not much I agree with Trump about but as he has said previously, the cure cannot be worse that the problem and at the moment this leaderless bunch of morons we have in government are making it up as they go along...and doing that badly.

2 months ago, there were people literally dying in the streets in Bergamo, Italy but yet there were 4 Ryanair flights arriving from there a day at Stansted airport. No quarantine, no checks, nothing. I know that, because I work for them.

And now, they decide to implement this lunatic decision with no science base to it whatsoever. It is not arrivals to the UK that we need be fearful of, if anything it is UK citizens travelling abroad because, thanks to the ineffective leadership of these clowns we have the worst coronavirus stats in Europe....

This useless government is determined to destroy the UK travel and tourism industry.

To be fair we are from having the worst stats if you take cases and deaths per population into consideration let alone population density compared to all other countries and I also think every government in the world is making it up as they go along probably because we're in an unprecedented situation. Which if anyone is to blame then that should lay firmly at the feet of the Chinese and Who imo.

The following people will be exempt from voluntary quarantine, except if they show symptoms:
- people in transit to another country;

If anyone like me is only travelling through France for another country you will be ok.
