FTSE above 6,000 and the £ hovering around €1.15. That's a good sign that the economy could be on an upsurge.
I spoke too soon...

Why hasn't he done Diane Abbott? Maybe a little bit too easy?
That would be too cruel. She's a basket case as it is! Thank God Corbyn and his cronies like Abbott are now banished to the back benches. There's a positive if ever there was one!

Its up and down like a whores knickers. Yes there have been losses and gains and this will continue until Boris launches his plans and watch a recovery. But watch a dip if a second wave breaks out.
Positive news the suns out and another day in garden.
Mal how's your sister doing hopefully good news.

Yes that's a positive, getting rid of Ashworth would be another positive.
My missus wasn't well yesterday couldn't get up and ached all over, that was a worry, all better today. That's a positive as she can get up and put the kettle on now

I'm guessing she doesn't read the forum then....
Fishie - she's much the same. Staying home and doing very little as she gets out of breath doing even basic things...thanks for asking
As you say - the sun is back so a nice walk beckons

The ongoing recession is turning out to be the steepest in living memory ... no surprise there! However. the markets are forward-looking so asset prices reflect future developments before they show up in the data. We need to think about things that are not yet materialising and begin to position for them before they do. This means thinking about a U-shaped economic path as we transition. This will be faster where liquidity is the main challenge and slower where solvency is the problem. All in all, pretty positive long term but there is more short term pain to be suffered yet.

Looks like there are plans in place to get some kids back to school early June
The Y10 and Y12 cohorts have really suffered with the closures as they would usually be right in the thick of their exam syllabus learning so if we can safely get them back in some shape asap it would be a big win

Alright all?
So the NHS volunteer scheme has been slow to start, but is picking up.
One of the issues has been people in some kind of need for help not knowing how to access the scheme sp they've produced a poster which is here...
https://volunteering.royalvoluntaryservice.org.uk/documents/final-rvs-nhsvolres-postertemplate-v2-1008.pdf
If you are able to print off and display anywhere / happy to ask if they'll put one in your local shop etc. it could help someone to get in touch.
thanks all

My positive thought is I can't wait for the day when Mal starts to become funny. Will it be soon Mal?

there's a back story to that one...
as for waiting for me to be funny, don't hold your breath.

Just got a message to say the lake I've been fishing for the last year is re-opening tomorrow.
And 6 months ago I booked one of the best swims for 5 days from this Saturday.
Whey-hey .. I can go fishing again!
Positive for me only I'm afraid, but I'm sure you understand.
