Only change mine when there's something wrong otherwise it stays on, checked every recast, hook sharpened if needed.
How very embarrassing, I've had the same rig on one of my stalking rods for at least two years and had had umpteen fish on it. One of my main rods has had the same rig on for about four months now and landed a few fish. What a Noddy I am.
I, like most change my rig as and when i think its needed....that could be after a few sessions or 1 cast if the hook has burred or i feel the hook length is not right / damaged.....
Unlike most I don't leave my rods set up after a session and all my rigs are stored on my rig board.... i also re use as much of the rig components as possible on redundant rigs....
I also don't pre-tie any rigs, (other than ones previously used and are deemed good enough to re-use).
when i arrive on a lake i pick my swim and locations within that swim and make a rig up to suit how i wish to present my bait for that particular day.... I never arrive at any lake with a pre-conceived idea on how i am going to fish or where i am going to fish.... i make that decision when i arrive and have assessed the situation..... sometimes i get it right and sometimes i get it wrong...all sessions are recorded in my little “anorak train spotting book” as the wife calls it .....she knows it matters to me as she has bought me a few nice leather bound books to use.....

I'm the same, I've got a few 8 foot zigs that I've had for a bout 5 years they sill get used about 3 or 4 times a year. The bottom rigs stay on my rods until they are goosed, or been resharpened a few too many times... I would guess the longest I've had a rig stay on a rod would be 6 months plus.

Nothing to do with being a noddy, for the fact of around 50p I would rather have faith I have a new hook on and not a blunt one.

One of my rods still has the same rig on it I was using in France last July.....hook still super sharp.
I've got loads of rigs made up ready in my box but if it ain't broke, dont fix it.

It varies. I sharpen my hooks eveyr cast on an easier water so they tend to,rust. So need replacing.
Plus hooklink material. If its a co polymer i like it can go springy. If its esp coated braid thats bombproof.
So my local club where i cycle to for short sessions, use coated braid and dont catch 😂 could stay on the rods all year......

I've always found the sharpened hooks on the market rust qr because they have been sharpened and too my there a one fish/session hook.
I but sharpened hook I can't be bothered too go too the hassle of touching them up every time.

I remove my rigs when packing up, inbetween sessions i check the rigs and re-sharpen as required. I keep using the same rigs unless i suspect something wrong or the hook is knackered.
