Keep them as 40mm , I build rods and deter most people from those horrible hooped ear rings

I cannot understand the need for the 50mm
I have had two sets of rods made and was recommended on both to use 40mm
They balance the rod better
Recently put the ER in 40 and hi s in 50 up for sale
Loads of interest in the 50 but the ER is the better blank
I have cast both and I could not tell the difference - I think you would need to be big casting
Will put them on flea bay and see what happens

The 50s just soften the blank and make it appear they aren't too stiff. Put 30s down to 8s along the tip and they'd be horrific

I was in the market for some new rods to upgrade my ESP mk1 Hearns, I bought a second hand ESP Hearn classics with 50mm rings and hated them, I just couldn't get on with the 50mm rings.

Had my er's changed from 40mm Kigans full set to 50mm Minima's full set x 3 was £95 a rod
What a difference that made,the 50mm minima doesn't look out of place like a 50mm kigan even though there the same size

Sell on eBay when they have a £1 or 2% final sale fee, which is at least once per month, and that's 8-10% extra in your pocket straight away.
