Just came across this thread and post.
Just to clarify, that is NOT the recipe for Protavit liver and if Pete B is Peter Boughton, he has no idea what the original recipe was. I am the originator of the bait and no one else has it.
I still make the original Protavit Liver under the name of PL2 in my new company we've been going for 10 years!) More Takes. Have a look here if your interested https://moretakes.co.uk/flavours.html

Hello Sealine. What a load of crap! You have absoluttely no idea what you're talking about. Protavit Liver was NOT a 50/50 mix. It was NOT 40% protein and it contained NO fishmeal! Pete B? Do you mean Peter Boughton? He has no idea either. Jim Rawcliffe

Hello Nick. I wonder who your friend was that worked for me?
The bait is anything but simple, in fact it's extremely complicated and very difficult to roll. True we used to cement mixers to make the base mix and yes we still do. Just so you know, there was one day, when I tried putting measured ingredients in a bucket and rolled it around, just to see if it would work. It didn't. I was planning on buying a ribbon blender but because of the cost/space etc reverted back to cement mixers which I still use. I can make about half a ton a day with them.
