NiN - Very good up to Downward Spiral era, but not that great after. I would disagree that they were different to anything else though, as I was very much into the industrial scene at that time. Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly, Ministry (up to "The Mind...") very much predated NiN in the states, as did the UK/Euro scene then - Nitzer Ebb, Front 242 etc....

Yeah fair point. I'm sure Trent has said that Ministry was an influence.

I think for me it's the extra level of versatility that set NIN apart.

Have you heard the 'ghosts' album? Some great stuff on there that I use regularly as underscoring music for devised theatre work.

Not too familiar with some of those others... will be having a look

Never been a Queen fan, I know I'm in a minority but Freddie's voice doesn't do it for me. That's not to say they haven't done some great songs but Bicycle Song really?
Bowie especially early Bowie does it for me
It's difficult to choose, it can changes all the time but here's just three, I can change my mind all night

go to 3 mins if you haven't the time
great ending
Scozza this is a tribute to Lou Reed and the Velvet Underground
