So we won this series and that is something to be positive about. However, I think This article has it spot on.

that was a good and true article ken, not sure on moeen opening, I would take the same route of Australia and give ben stokes a go at opening, perfert place to test him over the next two series, he wont feel under threat because if it don't work he can drop back down the order, this way they can drop lyth and blood someone in at no3 ready for a move up at a later date if stokes don't work out.

I doubt this will happen

You won't see stokes opening, you can't expect him to bowl a long spell, potentially taking the final wicket, then leg it off and be ready to bat in a few minutes.

I wouldn't mind seeing hayles opening in uae but I think he'd struggle with the saffas. Trying moeen as an opener makes it easier to get rashid into the team so I suspect that's the route they'll take.

Reminds me of the famous " The batsman HOLDING, the bowlers WILLEY....
Allegedly said by Brian Johnston

During one of the tests I'm sure the commentator naming our bowling attack said Anderson strokes broad wood

This is a Classic!

I cannot watch cricket on Sky as the commentators annoy me so much, so I turn the sound off and listen to Test Match Special on the radio. Plenty of real hilarity going on and worth it if only for Boycs being his usual bumptious and outspoken self! And Henry Blofeld is a one-off.

Only trouble is they have added Swan to the team. What a disgrace to English cricket that man is. Couldn't hack it in Aus during the last tour (when we were whitewashed) so said "bugger it , I'm off". What a hero...NOT!

Think the one dayers are nicely matched.

I was at that game England v West Indies The Oval 1991
All the crowd that had radios were in stitches and the rest didn't have a clue what was happening.

Well, pretty bad as it turned out!

Sad to hear of the passing of Brian Close, probably the bravest cricketer ever to put on pads. Have a look at how this 45 year old man stood proud against Michael Holding (Whispering Death). RIP Brian Close.
