Can you two shut up now? It's boring. We all might start rioting if you don't!!
Cast some spod mix at you both or something.

Although the picture of being covered in virtual spod mix does sound appealing I've learned a long time ago that requests to stop go unheeded

Hi Sir B and Greekskii,

I quite agree with both of you and said so in my last post, that the abuse I get from our leftist members is now predictable and boring.
It's just insulting criticism with no counter opinion on the actual topic.
As I said earlier, I follow US politics on line and have views and opinions which I'm happy to discuss with those that, in this particular case, want to sensibly discuss the causes and possible remedies of the US riots.
Greekskii, you and others, have written sensible posts that have contributed to the debate without insulting people.
Do you know what Jon's opinion is on the US riots? because I don't. He doesn't say, he just rubbishes opinion he doesn't agree with. Is that sensible debate? I don't think so.

Credit where it's due I think you take the abuse quite well BB, yes if you look back there are a couple of instances where you reciprocate but generally you do rise above it. It can't be easy

Hi Sir B,

Thanks for the encouragement.
The abuse I get isn't a problem because I don't take it personally. When people resort to abuse, you know they have lost the argument. But I do find it tiresome, and as you say, having to keep reciprocating my objections to it.
I know the strategy. The leftist tactic to shut down opposition opinion.
That's why they no platform and disrupt meetings by shouting out speakers and setting off fire alarms.
There's a nasty tactic they now employ on US campuses called doxing.
They put photos and names of those they disagree with on social media, so their supporters can attack them.
Thumb.

because I don't take it personally

That's the key
I'm sure getting on with people here and getting on in real life would be completely different or the very least a bit different
I mean I do my best to get on with Mal and Scozza but in real life I'd probably murder them

It doesn't help it makes things worse, how are you going to change peoples attitudes towards the cause when this happens, just creates more racists IMO.

I don't agree with the marching for SD reasons but back the cause.
Those set on causing trouble aren't doing it for anything other than themselves and a reason to get out of the house to be a ****.
I lived in Croydon at the time of the Mark Duggan fiasco, it had nothing to do with race locally and everything to do with stealing stuff to order and burning down a family business that'd been serving the community for decades.
The world needs to be careful, we don't have the man power to police a rebellion and the US potentially don't have the fire power thanks to an age old law that allows you to own a ****ing AR15

I remember that it was Reeves furniture shop burnt to a cinder.
The Mark Duggan case, if a white man carrying a gun was shot dead it would've gone largely unnoticed but when it happens to a black man 9 years ago it causes a riot and is back in the news again. To me that doesn't help the BLM cause. Surely the advice is whoever you are don't carry a gun.
Getting stats on who commits these type of crimes and the outcomes is not easy to come by.

If a white man was shot under the same circumstances then I'm sure there would have been the same
News coverage. The social side of it is normally discounted entirely. What it boils down to is the people worst off in society, normally profiled and subject to harassment by authority having something happen that breaks them and gives them a cause to latch on to where they can justify making a scene and fighting back.

Akala has a little video with the guy from LBC radio where he talks about being stopped and searched without his rights being read to him at the age of 12. His school teacher gave his class a sheet of paper with their rights on because they KNEW it would happen to the kids and wanted to try and help them somehow. It's worth watching and goes some way to explaining the anger and resentment for authority a lot of these people have due to the world they live in and experiences they've had.

Whenever a large crowd gathers , for whatever reason , be it Tommy Robinson , poll tax , football match or these latest BLM protest's there will always be a few who want to liven it up ! as we all know and when you have a police force in the uk as in America that is institutionally racist you are going to have civil disobedience every so often ,

following the evidence !

I stand to be corrected but I've never known of rioting when a white man is shot
Are you sure?
