What i am saying is the influence of corporate power and money is now at an all time high ,at the worst time possible and to protect and grow their fortunes they will resort to anything and with this lot in power now , well , it does not bode well , especially when the person who will likely replace "the buffoon" is trying his hardest to suck up to these people !, as we saw with Corbyn , if you are a threat , you aren't winning an election !
It's the corruption of politics by these people is the problem , you can see the negative influence everywhere , as we are witnessing at the moment !

Yep , after the 2017 election when he nearly won the lies and smears went into overdrive , you could sense the panic , well , some could , such a shame the majority lapped it up , would of been interesting to see where we would be now !

I had to read this one twice to check
Fishing minister Victoria Prentis admitting she did not read the brexit deal with regard to the fisheries deal when it was published and before it was passed as she was ,, wait for it ,,,, organising the school christmas nativity ! and we have witnessed the result , many pi**ed off fishermen doing nothing in transition deadlock unable to fish !

Love to be a fly on the wall in the meeting where someone has to explain to the cabinet what an 'Aldi' is....
As for the fishing farce - no surprise at all.
people are conveniently forgetting that the whole of last year - 12 MONTHS - was the 'transition period'. you know, that whole time when things should've been sorted out so there was none of the current mess after December 31st.

I agree with what you are saying. To the point, you could say all politicians are corrupt and will be defending their own subconscious bias, same as on here, same as everybody, it's life
As I mentioned before, in an extremely basic summary there's is a cash pot that has to be divided to run this country. Where this funding gets apportioned is ultimately in the hands of the current government
There has to be a limit on charity, same as any business, if the books don't balance out they will go bust. Cut costs in one area, it effects another and so on. The trouble with strategy is that you do not realise how good or bad it is until you are a few years down the road, and then, oh ****, we got it wrong
Now if you were to apportion the finances out, in simple terms, think of a pie charts, you have to apportion the percentages and benefits and funding will get £X
If this balance swings it will have a direct effect on the other category's, or you may have a float or you could get a loan, that has to be paid back, think Covid.
The books have to balance out with an aim of no debt but profit, if we break even, that's a result as a country I guess? What about if we continue to play the debt game, that's not good business sense it's it. We could sell things off though, our critical assets to pay it off, encourage foreign investment and shoot ourselves in the foot but at least we have shifted some debt, think conservative!
But let's be fair,,all the party's have a history of it. We need to be aiming to reduce the national debt, imagine if we were in credit, how much could we give to charity's then!!!
So in summary for me, there is so much for charity's and benefits and possibly a bit more but like everything else it needs some proper focus and attention to make sure that it gets used exactly what it for and not abused. If These are not managed they could spiral out of control, it's that simple
We are not an endless pot of cash ffs like some people seem to think, there has to be limitations and control otherwise we will be investing in nothing but benefits, it's that simple for me and our country or any country cannot sustain that, ever!
For every charity that gains there will be one that loses. And that's why I say, all these money folk banging a drum about support, put you money behind it, respect if they do, If not, shut the **** up!
Unless they double our taxes so we can all give a bit more, how about that?
No pay rises and straight off your top line, I wonder how many people would be banging a drum then lol

Of course it is part time, they did only get an 11% pay rise you know so most need the second, third corporate salary, how else will they afford the third house and lavish lifestyle with more people looking at their expenses claims.

I agree. And if we are out of Europe and companies want to deal with us. Well, that's the price you have to pay to trade in the U.K
So, whilst I'm snowed in and board I googled: Major government spending cuts over the last 10 years
If people are genuinely interested take 15 minutes out and have a read, few links, quite interesting really.
Government cuts have been on a downward trend and councils get most of their funding from council tax, wonder what we did before that!
Basic info here Council spend
Education, adult social care and then children's social care are the biggest areas of spend
If you read more detail though, as the demand for these services increases coupled with the limited funding that prevents provision of the service required expect some tax increases, council and personal as we move towards 2025 or in effect we are bust
Least we will have more to complain about when we are worse off!
