Cash? Giving poor people cash? Perish the thought, they'd go to the shops, come over all giddy and buy something totally unsuitable, like a croquet mallet .. when they don't even have a decent lawn!
Are these vouchers nice and big, like those charity cheques, with I AM POOR written in massive letters on them? Might encourage them to get a proper job in the city that pays nicely.
Just give people who need it the money, cut out all the links in the chain taking their cut.

Washington DC is going in to full on lockdown with a big armed security presence by the looks of it. Due to threats from the terrorists within the republicans spreading a “shoot to kill democrats” plot and sharing bomb making instructions on telegraph and plantr, amongst other things.
Also one of the terrorists is being sought for killing a police officer with a fire extinguisher during the attack which left him dead and saw a mob kicking his dead body, I wonder how people that supported blue lives matter so adamantly could do such a thing?

I've come across many problem families who would squander the money. Giving them money does not help them.
Lots of shops do vouchers, I get vouchers for being on a covid testing scheme and they look normal to me but Noj makes a good point.
I think we all agree the food parcels are **** so something needs to change.

If you have a voucher , why couldn't you have a scheme , like click and collect where you can only buy certain food items from a list that would only be used to feed a kid , and you could maybe twist the arms of a few supermarkets to throw a few freebies in also , get Rashford on the job , they could even do deliveries !
It's not hard to work a system out that's better than this one !

agreed - Rashford gets it because he lived it. I doubt many of the cabinet have ever had to choose between themselves or their children having a meal...
I'm pretty sure the vouchers have certain items that are restricted - alcohol / cigarettes etc. ? sure i have read that somewhere...

Last time i looked the cabinet was extremely wealthy. Nearly all are very wealthy. Multiple houses, businesses, directorships. Private school educated with wealthy families.
Their idea of a difficult decision is which private school to send their kid to. Not how to feed them.

Since the first lockdown I have seen loads of these arrogant self serving morons out in their supercars and their middle aged wives all made up looking down their nose's from their ranger overs but you cannot expect them to stay in their huge country house and exercise in their grounds or pool, most I believe can't cook or make a coffee as they always seem to have a Starbucks or Costa coffee and deli sandwich with them.
EAT THE RICH.

Dickensian statistics, soup kitchen Britain. There's a damn site more cash been squandered on people that can afford it, that'll carry on being handed it. I'm with that, give them food vouchers' not cash, maybe even some type of card system? For every good there is bad and cash is not the right solution. There are loads of **** parents out there who would just piss it up the wall, smoke it or just top up their entertainment pot
Working men's clubs, pardon the pun are rammed out near me (usually) and they ain't working men!
My Mrs deals with it first hand, pissed up parents, massive TV on the wall, kids sleeping on the floors, no beds, on the carpet or just a mattress, heart breaking to hear, never mind see! The parents are ****ing idiots, you will be surprised what goes off behind closed doors!
Like someone also mentioned, not healthy food either, ****ing takeaways every night

That's my point mate. No problem at all for me supporting people if it's for the right reasons, we should be able do it in our country and that's what makes us great. It's making sure that those who need it really do get the full benefit for the right reasons and that's the difference for me
