Hi Beany,

Glad you're back, I was scared you'd 'got the covids'.

My post was DEFINITELY abusive nonsense.

I enjoy your performance outrage, which started in the Coronavirus thread when you stated that my description of Johnson as 'lazy, unreliable and a liar' was, and I quote, 'gratuitous abuse'. That made me laugh.

Now you may like to order people to watch your carefully selected videos, but I'm not buying it. You try your very best to cultivate your own self image as a right wing intellectual, but you're way off the mark. I imagine you tell people 'I'm on a fishing forum ... they all call me 'the professor', goodness knows why?'

There's plenty of 'intelligent discussion' on this thread, but I'd class your contribution as denial, deflection, downplaying, victim blaming, excuses and not much more.

It's actually proven by science that sun exposure is the cause of different skin colours, maybe should have put a source in:
Now I don't know if a scientific fact can be racist or not, so please correct me on that if I'm wrong.

To correct racism and the inequalities between races of very very complex. It can't be done quickly purely based on the fact that anger and resentment do not disappear that quickly. It's long term support and change that's required. Commitment to actual meaningful projects and attitude changes that provide equality for all races. I think it has to be addressed via fixing wealth inequality issues (doing this also helps any poor person of any race) because there is people that will say “it's racist to not help white poor people as well” I had to deal with one such person that had held on to something for 15yrs and uses it to claim white privilege doesn't exist in the world.

Essentially as a child his football team, mainly white children from a normal area, did not get funding for new facilities but the team from a poorer area, who were mainly BAME, did. He was bitter about it 15yrs later!! His issue was that the poor community got the investment and the better off one didn't. He got angry when I tried to explain why that proves the point of privilege, in that case white privilege due to the make up of the communities that he stated. Comfortable white person angry that poorer BAME people got invested in over them.

Large side note sorry!!

Back to the main point, the reason it has to be long term change in so many areas is because it's so multifaceted and ingrained in so many places within society it cannot just be cut out in an instant. It's hidden everywhere. It only takes a racist person in a position of power in a business or government or wherever to filter it down through the ranks.

As a starting point everyone should be calling out the casual racism, because that's something we can ALL do and we can ALL create change. Call out your friends/family/parents/colleagues/bosses on it. Don't be afraid to do it, don't turn a blind eye to it because you might be cast out of that group of mates, do you really want to be friends with them anyway if that is there ideologies? Educate yourselves and others, read books, watch films, listen to actual victims of racism, all of them, poor/rich or whatever. Ask them questions to define things you might be unsure about. Make sure the future generations see everyone as equal and don't get subject to parents or grandparents negative ideologies. Luckily the young seem to be so much more tolerant and accepting so it will likely die out as time goes on but we mustn't let them be influenced by others.

That's exactly my point, treat people as they treat you is how it should be regardless of colour, race, religion or sexual preference, Although I draw the line at middle age hippies from the Wirral 😂, I cant help the era I was born, I wasn't forced to sit through racist entertainment, it was the norm and acceptable, the ethnicity of the country was still low and one could argue they didn't have a voice like today to stop such things, but I do get enraged like many of my age group when I see people from other countries coming here to live and then expecting us to bend and appease to the lifestyle they chose to leave, I'm not on about immigrants fleeing war zones although I do raise my eyes when you realise how many safe countries they travel through to get here, but that's another subject.

so please correct me on that if I'm wrong No you're not wrong but if I were to say to someone their ancestors spent longer in the sun then mine then some people might say that's racist.
Anyway there's no need for us drag it out I was just trying to make a point of how careful we all have to be nowadays.

Luckily the young seem to be so much more tolerant and accepting so it will likely die out as time goes on
Yes I'm noticing that is what's happening, each generation a little more tolerant than the previous.

Antifa are scum, inverseley facist themselves, encouraging violence and anachy to the detriment of local communities. Seen them here in the UK stirring up hatred in tinderbox communities whilst the lefty types ignore them. Pure scum.

Think you have to be very careful when you call ALL anti fascists scum. The groups that call define themselves as ANTIFA as a disguise and then use very facist methods aren't really ANTIFA are they.

If all anti fascists are scum, then you've just insulted any WW1 and 2 veteran. You've just called Winston Churchill scum.

ANTIFA is an abbreviation for anti Fascist. There are extreme anti fascists, just as there are extreme right wingers too. Generalisation is something discussed here in the thread already.

I agree that there are groups of idiots that incite violence and anarchy that hide under the guise of the anti fascist monicker and stand for a very extreme views.

Hi Jon,

You've just confirmed again why I think it pointless trying to discuss serious issues with you and your left wing colleagues on here. Your post is another stream of ridicule and insult.
Not once do you offer any sensible counter arguement to the specific points I make re inner city black social problems.
I'm sure it hasn't gone unnoticed that you and others, regularly rubbish opposing opinions in order to try and silence and discredit the valid views of those that disagree with you.
It is a standard tactic of the left, because your virtue signalling ideology can't be allowed to be called to account.
If you want to be taken seriously, then drop your glib, jester persona and tell us what problems you think inner city blacks in the US face and the policies you would endorse to address them.
By the way, yes, there is some intelligent discussion on here, but it's not coming from you.

BB, your unique blend of arrogance and hubris is quite astounding.

Why do you continue to tell me how to think, post, and behave when it must be obvious to even the most casual observer that I have no interest in, or need for your approval?

Far from silencing you, I'm more than happy that you express your opinions - your admiration of Trump, your approval of Johnson, and your belief in Minford. Not to mention your (often mentioned) ire at Abbott.
But this is a forum where people agree and disagree about things, so please don't tell me I can't criticize your ideas when I sincerely believe you are wrong ...

... It gives me a sense of enormous wellbeing.

Hi Jon,

In an earlier post you admitted that it was just abusive nonsense.
This post of yours is just more of the same. The repetition is becoming pointless and boring.
You say you sincerely believe that the opinions and ideas I've posted are wrong. Fair enough.
So, rather than continually telling me I'm wrong, tell us what you sincerely believe to be right.
The thread is about the American riots. Give us your opinion as to the causes of this unrest and the suggestions you would put forward to address the problem.
Don't keep ducking the issue. Telling me I'm wrong is only half the answer. Tell us why you think I'm wrong and why you think you're right.
