Always been a bird lover , Squirrels have an impact on our small bird population , the number of tit boxes i have made that have had the openings enlarged so a squirrel can get it's head in ,just replaced last years with a new one , i also watched a squirrel destroy a robins nest in our garden a few years back killing the contents !
An invasive none native species that i think we could do without , i must of dispatched around 2 - 3000 since i was 19

Air pollution levels in the UK have dropped significantly in the weeks since the country went into lockdown.
The nitrogen dioxide (NO2) level has fallen across the UK, with the daily average down almost 40% on the same period last year.
So when we do get out for our daily walk, we - and the wildlife (squirrels included) - are breathing in much cleaner air

after watching Trump on tv just now, my positive thought for today is thank God he's not our PM....

I've watched quite a bit of US politics before and since Trump won the presidency and you may not be so aware of the hostile partianship and division that exists between the Republican White house and the Democrats and the mostly, attack dog, left wing media. It makes our political division over Brexit look like a bun fight in comparison. And our left leaning media, like Sky news etc. never report him in an unbiased light.
That's why Trump uses Twitter so much, because CNN etc. will never report on his successes with the economy and record low unemployment, especially among the black community, the Democrats flagship " Ethnic Minority oppression victims," they claim to support.
As we both say, you have to try and see the bigger picture beyond the press conference of today, which was mild by usual standards. The journalism is never a balanced constructive criticism,.but is aimed at painting Trump and his administration in the worst possible light.
Since before and after the election, the Democrats have waged a campaign to discredit and impeach Trump.
Firstly, when Hillary Clinton via the Democratic National Committee, paid $7 million through a research firm
Fusion GPS to Chris Steel, an ex MI6 agent, who had Russian connections, to try and dig up evidence of Trump Russian collusion in the election. That led to the Mueller investigation, which went on for 18 months or more and found nothing. So the Democrats, who controlled the House, then set in motion the recent impeachment process, which was also found to be groundless.
There is little honour and respect shown in US cross party politics as shown by Nancy Pilosi, the leading House Democrat, who at Trump's State of the Union address, stood behind him and looking at the TV cameras, proceeded to tear up into pieces, her copy of the speech.
Whatever your political leaning, the hostility and vitriol of the Leftist Democrats is nothing that should be condoned or admired.

My positive thought for the day is Beany, wearing a lovely red 'Make Norfolk Great Again' hat, patrolling the marinas of the Broads shouting at groups of kayakers 'You're fake canoes!'.
The shelves are much fuller in our supermarkets they've even had to reduce the price of some overstocked products. If you want to pig out the Easter eggs are now at bargain prices.

Calling the attack dog hacks fake news is about all Trump can say without outright abuse and he's largely right because their agenda is only to try and discredit him in any way they can by invention or omission.
Some Democrats are a pretty nasty bunch, like Maxine Waters who called on Dems to confront Republican officials in the street or a cafe, shop etc. and surround, jostle and abuse them.
Antifa rove in masked gangs, threatening Republican supporters and hipocritically act like the Nazis they accuse the Republicans to be.
Perhaps the most cynical act was Jussie Smollett, the black, minor actor, staging a racist attack by supposed white Trump supporters wearing MAGA hats.
Re MAGA hats, there are many documented instances of people wearing them, being abused, attacked and denied service in shops and cafes.
Anyway, in view of your impertinent, personal remarks ranged against me, I shall be recommending to the mods that you be handcuffed to Tommy Robinson for a day.
That is my best thought for the day.

My mistake. I should never have mentioned trump on what I am hoping to keep a positive thread.
Happy to discuss him elsewhere, but for today I'll instead focus on the second part of my post and captain Tom Moore who it seems has more innate goodness in him than the entire US senate put together. A truly inspirational effort that he and his family can be rightly proud of.
And tinhead and his Easter egg frenzy of course....

An elderly, English, WW2 veteran, wearing his medals, shuffling along with his walker, has certainly struck a chord with so many. Captain Tom is a sort of metaphor for, and an echo of the British bulldog spirit.
