A summer of cricket starts today at lords .
If our top four don't get a hundred between them , we know who we're gonna be talking about for
The next week or so .
I'm off now till Tuesday and I can't wait .

Come on England,

Oops , one down already

As an England fan i have one thing to say:

COME ON NEW ZEALAND AND AUSTRALIA!!!!

7-0 thrashing with no lubricant is the ONLY way to get rid of cRaptain Cook.

What England desperately need now is a world class batsman capable of scoring over 300 runs* shame there wasn't one available for selection before this test

This is crunch time for more than one England player, not least the captain...and he's out cheaply already, as is Bell. Root will score a ton on this wicket and Stokes is a good battler. Stokes in ahead of Moeen...here's why:

...batting change wasn't a deliberate move by England - Moeen Ali was batting in the nets and couldn't get his kit on in time to make it out there. Shambles doesn't do it justice - if this series is Paul Farbrace's audition for the permanent job of England coach, that's the equivalent of fluffing your first line and then tripping over part of the set.

Ahh but the brat would bat at 4 5 or 6, not where England are struggling

Great to see some aggressive batting after the obligatory 1st test 1st innings collapse

Yep, great game!
Even better when you are sipping a cold beer or 6 at the home of cricket on the final day
I'm not getting ahead of myself and predicting anything life changing happening against Australia

Nice place to be Noj, nearly went myself but couldn't get out of work
days 2 and 3 at the oval will have to make up for it hopefully England have a chance to win it by the final test

Not predicting an England win just yet, but I'm no longer expecting a 0-5 drubbing

very interesting the way they have arranged the test venues this year, if all goes to the plan I think England have set it will all be all be on the 4th at trent bridge
1st test can be sort of sacrificed as a learning curve and look to hit them at lords and Edgbaston to put the pressure on the flaming galas
they cant be relying on winning the ashes at the oval being level at 1-1 or 2-2 they need to make sure the aussies need to win the last test to stand a chance
I just hope the press cut us some slack if we do go down in the 1st test, as in 2005 I think they needed that first loss to evaluate where they were at
cant wait , I get back from bounty lakes on the 20th august , just in time for the oval

Cook made me laugh today saying that he hoped this series could be played in the same manner
As the last one against New Zealand .
Wake up dopey and smell the coffee , this is the ashes .

What a fantastic morning for England. The captain has played a blinder and the whole team is brimming with positivity. Huge turn around from that dismal winter series. Come on England
