I didn't see this guy try and choke the copper out? Clearly him being investigated shows even his superiors aren't sure he used reasonable force.
Seems like he lost his head and acted out of anger and rage than as a police officer. Because at the end of the day his plan was to choke him unconscious if he didn't give up. That isn't a professional action of a police officer.

Back to my original statement. The words of the police alongside their actions are getting them in trouble much more recently. There's a lot of intent to abuse powers being picked up on cameras nowadays. Like the copper that threatened to make up an incident to arrest a teenager
Maybe instead of them being worried about cameras they should focus on acting lawfully within their job and they won't have to worry about being filmed doing something they shouldn't.

When somebody dies from being punched it's usually the floor that kills them or causes brain damage, when they die from strangulation it's the lack of oxygen that kills them or causes brain damage. I'm not saying the police should stand toe to toe and have a punch up though
I blame the MMA cuddle gang for this obsession with choking, previously you choked people you wanted to kill.
He may well have knocked somebody out, but remember we live in a society where people (you) applaud boxers for knocking people out.. what makes one ok and the other not, gloves?
It's a violent world made worse by the glorification of violence in sport, computer games and tv.
We also don't know why he knocked somebody out, is there never a valid reason except for being a copper?
I'm not a pacifist, had many a tumble when required and expect they won't be the last but a prolonged cutting off of somebody's air supply you better kill them or you could be next, I'd happily murder anybody that took the risk to do it to me or my loved ones.

I agree Jon, there are some nasty characters about. I don't have a problem myself. For me they deserve what they get

There are also some bellends in the force, the ones who are cops out of work are the worst, my brother in law was one, retired now, still thinks he is one

One thing for sure. It's not a job I would want because the first **** that hurt me, I would want to ****ing cripple them

Boxing is something different though. That is two people who choose to put their life on the line, for which I respect them, their choice, their passion

People not respecting the law and thinking they can do what they want is what is causing so much trouble. The way officers have to pussy foot around is bull****,you break the law and try and attack an officer you get what you deserve.A good slap would do some of these scumbags good and make them show a bit more respect in the future

This is just getting ridiculous

It's like a bad Guy Ritchie script with all the pseudo macho gangster Crap. Lock stick and two smoking gobsh*tes. ...

If he was doing his job right he wouldn't have been taken off duty. Simple.

I don't think a punch or two would make criminals respect the police at all. These people are at war with them by the very nature of their choice of career. You've got 16 year olds murdering people because they looked at them. If anything it would work in reverse and you'd see assaults or murders of police rising further. As you lot have said, you wouldn't like getting a smack from someone and you'd do it back. Why doesn't that count if it's a policeman that smacks you?

I'm not saying the police should go around smacking people but they should also not have to pushy foot around people if under attack.I have had someone come at me with a knife and its not nice at all,so much goes through your mind in such a short space of time.I managed to defend myself and come through it ok,but im not sure if its relief or adrenaline that kicked in but if my friend had not have pulled me off my attacker it could of ended badly for him

I knew you'd like the direction this has gone
It is true though mate, you can't police some folk without force.
My argument is that it's never ok to choke, but using the age old clip round the ear or baton is the less dangerous option.
When I was in the custody of our brothers in blue on a weekend a while back, the attitude and threats from some people being processed was incredible. Still kicking off with cuffs and leg restraints on, one lad who'd have blown away in a stiff breeze was coming back the following day to ‘do' them all

If a policeman has someone come at them with a knife and they manage to disarm and beat them within an inch of their life they are NOT doing their job. It's not in their code of conduct to do it. They wouldn't be acting professionally.

They are professionally meant to disarm, restrain and arrest using reasonable force. Not kill or seriously injure. Simple as that. If you think the police should be allowed to give an unarmed and restraint person a real pasting then you must be one of them stamp on someone's unconscious head brigade. But maybe that's obvious by you bragging you almost killed someone with your bare hands

A WEEK officer safety training out of 14 weeks really sets you up to deal with nutters

Yes, black belt equivalent in a week

And that's about keeping yourself safe and recognising what you can and can't deal with
Are you sure?

This action cannot be undone.

Yes, continue
