I don't condone violence but anyone that mouths off like that has to realise they are risking getting a tonking, don't matter what colour or race they are and what colour or race they are doing it to.

i think any officer deciding to use 'choking someone to sleep' as a method is just plain stupid. even without the wider context of George Floyd etc. It's just dangerous - as we've seen to awful consequence.
'chill out or I'll choke you out' doesn't strike me as Police standard procedure.
He (the officer) looks like his emotions have got the better of him (opinion obviously) and it appears to be excessive use of force.
The officer has been removed from frontline duties so the force obviously recognises there's an issue to be dealt with.
All of that stands regardless of the race of the man being arrested. Once that is added to the discussion it only makes things worse in the current climate, especially in Halifax.
I would add that there are missing facts - the reason for arrest, the minutes and actions prior to the video start etc. ...

That's the important bit without knowing we can't understand how this happened. I can't believe this happened out of nothing. To use the choking comments is just plain idiotic after recent events, I reckon he could lose his job based solely on what he said rather than what he done.

Quite a few police officers recently here seem to be getting in trouble for what they are saying to people. This is a direct threat of physical harm. There was the officer who threatened a teenager that he was going to make up a reason to arrest him and a few others videoed during the last few months.
Goes in a circle though doesn't it, more stuff like this happens, the more respect the police lose from people, which in turn means more abuse directed at them, so the more likely they are to abuse their power to deal with those abusing or disrespecting them... and repeat.

Indeed we are. The **** had just been rioting and sparked somebody out
So when you deal with a **** like that i think its fair game. The man was in full rage mode. not the time for a feather duster and voice of reason!
To be fair if i was a copper i would have got the sack too because i would have smashed his ****ing face in
And then they are rioting outside a police station about choking one of our Asian brothers
