I after a new headtorch I have had the ridgemonkey vrh 3000 and the petzl rxp they are ok but heard a few people have said good things about he the Black Diamond Storm R 5000 and the Nitecore NU45 the ones pro lite explorer are selling anybody got any reviews

Look on eBay at the Sunblesa Gen 2 H11 headtorch that's decent nice and light weight has white , red and green lights it's rechargeable comes in a hard case aswell £29.99

I have the Nitecore Nu25 on Gerry's recommendation, it has been brilliant, I'd imagine other nitecores to be of similar quality. I've heard the sunblesa to be an equivelant and cheaper alternativce to the nu25

I bought this recently and it is the best headtorch I have had, weighs virtually nothing and I have had a weeks winter session without it needing charging.

I have quite a few headtorches, including both versions of the NU25.
I'm my opinion, the Nitecore NUS 7 is a good step up from them.
I bought mine on aliexpress, but they are also available on Amazon.

Nu25 👌🏽👌🏽 had one many years and it's superb. So lightweight you can sleep with it on and not notice it but also very bright when needed.
I have another for longer range work, Nu33. Great headlight and really bright but too heavy/bulky to sleep with it on.

I bought one of these recently and have used it on a couple sessions.
It's nice.
Sensible light options, my only gripe with it being you need to put it on the correct way up to use the tilt function.

With my RidgeMonkey headtorch, it can swivel both ways and have on / off buttons on top and bottom.

Minor gripe though, it's so nice and light compared to the RidgeMonkey

Another vote for the sunblesa..... small, powerful and decent battery life. I got one after being recommended on here and its brilliant. Highly recommend

Nebo mycro 400, recharges via USB too. Great little headtorch i found in screwfix

I use the sunblesa, fantastic torches. But you need two...
The light doesn't dim before the battery goes flat, the light just goes off.
This can leave you stuck, but having a spare ready to roll means you can still make a brew while the other is on charge.

Got the same, purchased years ago on the back of OG's recommendations, I have 2 so you are rarely if ever without light.
They've survived some torrential rain when I was last out inn Morocco and never let me down.

If you've got the early ones, the 1st gen, then the battery wasn't too good. You can msg sunblesa and they will send you new units to replace for free.

👍👍I've had them for at least 5 years and they've served me well, I always have the one I'm not using charged up or on charge when fishing, never let me down.
Considering how long I've had them I'd feel a bit of a fraud asking for FOC replacements, so I'll continue as is for the time being, but thanks for the heads up, maybe I got lucky with the batteries in mine.

You can tell if you have the 2nd gen if you do this...
Using the right hand button, it should cycle through low green, high green, high red.

The 1st gen had high and low red, and low green, but not sure in which order.

I’m currently looking for a rechargeable head torch.

I’ve seen from the previous posts the Sunblesa H11 gen 3 is popular.

AI has also suggested Simond Forclaz HL500, it’s a big heavier but lasts a lot longer.

Any suggestions on the above and also are there any Nitecore head torches around a similar price (under £25/30) that are recommended?

I dont leave it on continually so hard to say.
I always have two with me so one is a back up and one is being used.
I have just done four nights and the first torch was still going strong.
Also used two for a week in france and they lasted fine with no recharge.
It's hard to tell how much charge they have left but they have always lasted ok.
I have marked the case so I know which is which, and I rotate them each sesh.

Energizer headtorches always been good for me.

I’ve ordered the Gen 3.
I also order the Sunblesa bivvy light so I’ll see what that’s like, reviews online seemed good.

Of all my headtorches the Sunblesa has the least capacity. Maybe I got a dud but I find myself recharging it every session.

The green ridgemonkey one that TFT do as a 'special' is my favourite. Same features/usage as the old rectangular block one, but a bit smaller.

NGT Profiler is OK, but also not great on battery

p.s. I tend to hate RidgeMonkey stuff so it hurts saying the headtorch is good!

Battery on my bivvy light is really good. Tend to only charge it about 3 times a year, either off the boat battery, or power bank if I’m fishing off the barrow, takes about an hour or so.

My son bought me a little rechargeable head torch from a company called Nebo and it has been excellent 👌🏻
Very small and light and comfortable to wear whilst sleeping, as I do.

I’ve got a Sunblesa 2, had it a few years and it’s never let me down, straps a bit tatty but I’ll live with that.
Then last birthday my other 1/2 got me a Flextail Tiny HELIO 600Z which I’m warming to.
It does a great job, white light, red light varying levels of brightness, but I still prefer my old Sunblesa, probably because I’ve used it for years and know exactly how it works.
If it packed up tomorrow I’d by another one, but I’ve now got the flextail so need to stop lamenting the past and move on 😂😂😂😂
