I have been a fan of the Berkley CM90. I know this has now been discontinued, so am looking at what to go to next. Last time I re-spooled and couldn't get hold of any CM90 I opted for ESP Synchro XT (not the loaded version) and it seems decent, but I much prefer the CM90. CM90 just seems to knot down well and behave itself. I can't describe it well, but it just seems harder than other monos I have used, but still without coiling associated with stiff lines.
So what has similar qualities? Technium?

Aren't they going to say it's being rebranded as JRC? That was the last titbit to come out of the carp angling knitting circles, along with the supposed updated version.

I went from CM90 (fished 2 years with it) to Korda Touchdown and I am using Touchdown for the 3rd year now.

Got a new spool here of the 15lb, absolutely love the stuff. Just ordered 3 more spools of it from the US. Let's see if it arrives 🙏. Got some of the Thinking anglers line as a substitute after hearing positive things, but not spooked up yet.

Hi Simon,
We are going to release a new line to replace the CM90 but I can't give you any details as it's top secret.
Please keep a close eye on social media for release dates.

Getting away from Berkeley, I have used Gold label Pro-Clear for years but it became unavailable so I turned to Thinking Anglers OGX and tbh it's been brilliant and I would go as far as saying its better than Pro-Clear, it ticks all the boxes

Agree with that. Just had to pay bloody £40 for a spool of 12lb cm90.

Have you used the 12lb before? Did not get on with it at all compared to the 15lb. Had it part on me a couple of times whereas the 15lb was reliable rope.

If you haven't spooled it yet I would honestly try and swap it for the 15lb. Specially if you dropped £40 on it! The 12lb only lasted a couple of sessions before I took it off and went back to the 15.

Cant get the 15 anywhere which is why i bought the 12. Might be able to cancel it. I didnt think there would be much difference.

I had the 12 on my big pits for a while, only changed when the venue I was on got weedy, it was fine as far as I can remember

I used the 12lb version for 3 seasons and absolutely no issues. Only changed to Syncro XT as like you couldn't get CM90 any longer and new water was 15lb minimum BS

Yep, discontinued, such a shame for a very good product, didn't even buy a spool myself it was already out of stock when i started carp fishing
And even if you find a spool on an curse online shop, I wouldnt buy it cause you dont know about storage condition during many years🙁

oh dear what a disaster, CM90 was my go to line it was the BEST!
anyway, done some digging and on a FB group someone says: You can still get cm90 it’s just been repackaged under a different brand that owns JRC /prologic.
YOU can get this:
Prologic Inspire CM90 1000m 0.38mm 11kg 24LB Frost Green
only thing is - is it the same made by berkley?

I liked a lot about CM90. Only thing I couldn’t get on with, and if you care about what a line looks like to a human eye in water, it stuck out so much it pretty much glowed green.
I always preferred brown Touchdown. Equally strong, equally heavy but was much more discreet (to my human eyes!)
