He has set up a patreon and is now doing similar videos to the one's during lockdown, plus Q&As and other exclusive content, started with the retelling of 'A Flick of The Tail', starts with The Mere LINK

I'm sure he's a lovely chap ...But not for me either... Does seem to have an enormous fan base to exploit and monetize.... Signs of the times...!!

It didn't seem to show how much it would cost? Not that I'll be paying, just interested.

Patreon could be going down the swanny soonish if any of the lawsuits going through the courts in California that Patreon have got to stump up for are anything to go by.

I have signed on, enjoyed his (free) lockdown ones. Seems a fair deal, he is an interesting and funny raconteur. Looking forward to the Sonning stuff.

Neither would I , but then I wouldn't expect him to artex my ceiling for free. The guy is entitled to earn a living however he sees fit or is able to.
If you don't like something enough to pay for it then don't. Same goes for every other sphere of life. It's only fishing.

I think of the monthly subscription as equal to buying a carp magazine as it is about the same price. On that basis it is very good value. And with a lot less ***** content than the typical magazine.

As people below have said, DL can't be expected to put this content up for free, he needs to be monetarily rewarded to make it viable to post regular videos. It is not being sponsored by one of the big tackle companies so the only other option is a subscription basis.

He has given up his job to try this full time and if enough people like it and subscribe it will continue, if not it will dwindle and be gone. Fair play to him for trying this and I hope it does well.

Edit: I didn't know $ h i t e was a swear word, but that is what is starred out above.

One of the good ones in fishing, as we all know fishing isn't cheap. Fair play to him, hope it goes well.

There will be a load of bank tramps looking for hand outs in the coming years when they realise a great photo album doesnt help put the kids through uni or even cover the bills.

Not for me
but <£5 isn't a lot of money nowadays If you have it to spare..
I think in today's market When everyone is giving out free content it may be difficult to get enough support for it to last.

But
Good luck to him

Agree, best of luck to him.
If he can make a life of fishing and talking about fishing work for him then all power to him.
