Hi mate im off there again at the end of September,as for best areas its tricky as the swim you want might already be booked for the week you want to go swims 21 and 22 can be good so can 29 30 31 but it really is down to a lot of luck if the fish are in your area,iv never fished the south basin so cant comment on that,email the Masion de Pecheurs tell them the week you want to go and ask them what swims are free as you need to reserve and pay a deposit via credit card

I've ever really only concentrated on the South but irrespective of which part you are fishing, I would expect the silvers, tench, bream, cats to be wide awake and hungry.
I fished last September and lost the fish after 4 days as we probably didn't feed enough. We cooked particle on the bank and took lots of pellet and boilie. I reckon I easily put in 50kg of particle, 30kg of pellet and 25kg of boilie for those first few days but when a shoal comes in.....

It's 215 euro per week for the swim ( 115 each) 78 euro each for the lac du der permit which starts in January and lasts a year and and either 30 euro for a weekly cart de pech or 69 for a yearly one

Don't take particles or pellets there these days I've learned my lesson by catching to many bream,Rudd and catfish although they still take boilies a times,I just take boilies and tigers

Fished the south in May with just boilies and tigers and had a fare few out,the guy in our swim before use piled the particles in fished with 8 rods with his mrs and caught tons of bream and no carp over 6 nights

Just got back from a 4 week trip. Fished the south and the north. Lots of 10lb commons in the south now as it's been stocked for the world carp classic. Too many catfish in there now. Still lots of nice carp but it's hard work getting through the cats sometimes. Fished nemours last year on the main basin and we caught carp for two days then the cats moved in and we caught 1 more carp in 12 nights.

No one in 22 week before last.....just one Belgian in 14 that I spoke to on the Friday and he'd had carp to 26kg......

We're fishing south bassin coming October, and with the new stocking our plans need adjustment.
Did you catch a lot of these new fish?
And witch swims did you fish?
Had no trouble with the cats the last couple of years( don't use fishmeals and you won't catch cats)

Oke swim 25, allso a Well known swim for the cats.

The last couple of years we've only using boillies with a spicy bite, the result more than 200 carp and 1 cat.
The cats i'm not so afraid of, its the small stockies that worry me, did you caught a lot of them?
Its pretty f.... Up that they put new fish on south basin, mostly because of the weight of the Older carp were increading rappidly over the last few years.

They have put new fish in all parts of the lake, especially the south and north basin.
Can't see how the World carp cup is going to work as sharing a post with another team will be interesting plus who ever gets South Basin is going to clean up compared to the rest of the lake.
Maybe someone might get lucky
Also heard that the North basin is solid with weed ?

Yeah, if each team fishes with 4 rods, than its possible because there all double swims.
But Like you Said, sharing it with another team could make things complicated😡😡.
I put my money on it that, the winner comes from south bassin.

Spoke to sylvian com the Maison de peche and was informed that the average size of stockie in the south was 5kg and average size in the north is 10kg as they wanted to keep the average size higher in the north. Roy....placed my rods out on the gravel bar and pointed down towards 4 & 6.....less cats for me but my mate was plagued.

Im looking on the internet about fishing rules and really cannot find anything about fishing distances. The only thing i found that it was alowed to bring your bait out with the boat on the maximum distance of 100m. Is that true ? I don't want to fish at 500m but im really interested if its so.
Where can i get a fishing license and where can i book a swim ?

Totally agree with Bumper Boy, it's for those experienced in boat work.
You need all the specialised gear including a decent boat, eletric engine, life jackets and fishfinder.
Even with all the correct gear it can still be hard work and you can be literally miles away from any fish.
I would start somewhere far less daunting!

Yea I know but was worth a shot I'm gonna try south basin next bought a new boat fish/feature finder and motor for boat but some people say need at least 50kilo of bait a week each would u you that much

Inland sea is the best way I can describe it and from the reports I have read over recent years , what is the real attraction?? A couple of 80lb ex Chanty fish removed and relocated in other venues, so far only 1 of them returned to where it belongs, but even after the commercial world carp masters comps nothing caught to inspire most people to fish there.

Mate if you're considering fishing chanty I'm pretty sure you must be experienced enough to know that if you can't get on fish 50kg is 50kg too much and if you're on numbers of fish 50kg might not last you 3 days.
You just need to take as much as you're comfortable taking buddy. Bulk it out with shelfies or take dry particle and cook it up on the bank if you're concerned about wastage. You can always bring that stuff home.

out of the choice that Was left (not loads) went for swim 31 mate. Guy I'm going with has been a few times and fished that one so seemed a sensible choice.
Got a couple weeks at our disposal so may stay on the next week and see whats available.

Just returned from 2 weeks. Loved it.
Very very hard with the weed and mosquitos though, but had a few, fishing south basin.
Book your pegs via email only. If you aren't happy whilst there you can move around to what is free, just let the maison de peche know before you move.

You have a good chance in most posts on the South. Just make sure you are prepared for the worst mosquitoes you can imagine.

Was on south basin poste 25 1st week of July moved to peg 7 cos my friends in 24 couldn't fish at all due to weed.
Looked the same all round the south basin a bank of weed in 7-12 ft of water between 30-50 meters out 20-40 across so difficult for boats to get through with engine or oars. If the swim has been fished possibly a channel will be there like in 25.
Im back there 1st week Sept and will be taking ropes and chains to cut channels on 25 just in case but if anybody has 24 booked possibly unfishable this year.
We had no issues with swimmers boats but that is not usually a problem on there, the mozzies were really active, my mates had 400 plus bites between the 3 of them.

We took one look at 31 and moved pegs mate. weed was solid top to bottom all over that area. water was way up and had flood most of the peg out and the mozzis were another level in the woods.
The peg we moved to also had alot of weed close in after about 80 yards then it went. i used the motor a couple times all week easier to just row.
as for boats Pike anglers etc, i got cut of once by the speed boat that came just inside my marker and so did my mate. the guys to our right were getting picked up every day a couple of times a day by the pike and cat anglers.

With the floods on the Seine they had stacked the water in the lake hence the high water levels peg 7 was 3.5m under water from normal, every where was the same and don't think its been fished much this year so far, they opened the out flow the Tuesday eve 2nd july and by Friday the water had dropped 0.4m probably back down and easier to get rods out now,we could only fish straight out due to been so far back into trees.
Still part of fishing just booked mine for 2020 and got 2 more trips there Sept and Oct this year I love the place,

thanks for the reply I fish in weed unto the surface in the uk with confidence but this sounds on another level surprised the fish haven't made clear areas in the weed on swim 31 will have to cross. our fingers for another available swim when we arrive then

Can always jump in a swim on the main basin if your not feeling the South. Check with the Maison du petcher for available posts

Swims have been available for booking for over 6 months and the good swims at the right time sell like hot cakes. You will unfortunately be left with what people don't want by booking at this time of year.
That doesn't necessarily mean its a lost cause though. Good luck.

That's a bit of a hard question to answer. Personally I would take plenty of stabilised\shelf-life boilie and dry tigers\peanuts. That way if it kicks off you have plenty in reserve and if it doesn't you can bring it back.

Not sure if you've heard back but they are changing dates to another date this year, deposit transferred towards a swim next year but you still have to apply via email 1st July for pegs or a full refund!
To be honest i thought it would a ball ache to try and sort anything and was expecting to lose the deposit so fair play to them.
Currently moved my booking to later this year, if that still doesn't happen i will probably take a refund and then go in 1st July for what i want next year, i expect it to be a busy email day!

Easy van access swims are 2, 16, 12, 13, 17, 47, 7, 14, 50, 21, 22, (if dry), 28, 29, 30, 24, 25, 35, not sure about the other side of south basin as I've never fished that side.

I'm in 29 at the moment on main. Weather has been lovely for this time of year. Couple of hot days but then overcast and some real wind and storm, time it right and can get it bang on.
Hire boats have been ok, although keep your eye on them as they don't understand the rules. The pike anglers have been ok, the odd ruthless one, I had to clap at one 20 metres off my tips till he put his head up! Part of these places though.

Guys, can You tell me how it is in practice withthis 100m rule ? As I know people fishing there even at 600m.
Other question - stick to the rules you shouldn't use a boat in the nightime - how it is in practice when You have bite and You need to use boat.
Definitely You can park your van at pegs 26 and 27.

I've fished at 300+ yards whenever I've been and had no problem , i always tend to put my rods out in the afternoon when the boat traffic has calmed down a bit , certain swims especially. As far as using the boat at night I wasn't even aware that was a rule and I've never had a problem doing it .

No problem when you go out by boat at night.
Keep in mind that if you fish further out than 100 meters,
And yours lines get picked up by pike angles, stay polite
And don't make a fuss about. Or there is a chance they will

Lots of cats, if you use piles of fishmealboillies and if they are hungry, they eat anything.
Lots of mosquitos, and some shade to hide from the sun in august.

On youtube some movies of fishing on chanty, so you can see what you can expect.

im out in September on the south basin swim 24 and now have thew chance to stay a extra week and the only swims available are 1,2,10,48 having not fished any of these swims what would be the best option out of these ?
this is our first year fishing the Der so just happy been out there to be honest but would like to know the pro`s and con`s of these swims .

1 & 2 on the North, fished 1 a couple of years ago and loved it, didn't catch anything big (although had plenty) the swim is full of features and I've no doubt theres some whoppers in there somewhere. 2 there is a youtube vid out there of a couple of big fish from this swim. Both easily accessible.

If you have the chance of dropping peg 24 and go in another peg sooner, dont hesitate. Peg 24 is a s... peg in september and a waste of time in mine opinion. You are blocked by anglers fishing from 25.

So my friend done it wrong and land 80 pounder with 4 backleads from 450m range, plus many other fish from Der two other friendsdoing same here with good results may you dont know long pole with hook at the end to grab your line from snags, but if not thats the first thing to have on your boat to fish at snaggy lakes

Now it's time to have some rest in the work 🤣 of course coming again next year. If somebody didn't book swim for next year it will be really hard. 3 weeks ago I have grabed last good peg for south bassin at autumn, but whole lake was looking full. Anyway nice to hear that Big Girl still growing and it's in nice condition. Will be more nice if somebody add some photo. Spoke with Melanie, but guys don't want publish it

To be honest, i havent fished chanty in august. Mate of mine did well on 26 in august, not many fish but big ones, read 20 kilo +. This year the fishing is very hard on the south as well on the main bassin due the weed. Most pegs are unfishable, with your lines on top of the weed and tourist going threw lines in kayaks and boats. Also there's lots of rumours about fishs kills.im out in october but i dont expect a big haul to be honest...

i have a pal currently there in peg 37. They have had a fair few up to nearly 25kg fishing in the margins either side in 6m water

La bute is allways, good for some decent fish. Didnt knew it was open allready in august. But peg 37 is hard to book, because its a popular swim. Normally you have to fish far out on that peg, so goiod angling by your mate. Its also good to hear there's fish caught...

Fished 9 August before last. Water was still really high, you wouldn't of been able to fish 10 unless you was right back in the woods.
We had a few from close in weed beds but i think they are proper autumn swims. mid september onwards.
Fished 10 last October, done OK considering 8&9 wasn't doing anything.

Swim 26 is on south basin which is apparently jammed with weed.
Swim 14 is ok but be prepared for daily chaos with swimmers, boats etc

47 you can park behind but you need a key available from the Maison. not much shelter from the sun / elements. Quite a few tree stumps out there.

Hello m8. Currently on post 5,..been here a week and with a week left. The lake seems like it is behind for this time of year. Water seems colder than usual and the water level is rising just over a cm per 24 hours. The weather is just beginning to pick up so hopefully the water being pumped into the basin will push the water temperature up a little? The fish in the south basin have started spawning a couple of days ago. I am guessing that the main basin fish are still grouping up and getting ready to spawn?? I know the chaps fishing in 24 and 25 had nothing for last week,(ended today), lads on 26 & 27 had I think 6 carp which included a 42 lbs and a 33 lbs and a couple of small,(under 50 lbs), cats but their swim died off on Wednesday night onwards..I spoke with Slyvian,(guard du Pêcheur), and he said that up until Wednesday he had heard of nothing coming out of the main basin. Depending on when you are coming you could just be timing it right! As yet I have only had a tench and seen no evidence at all of carp!...but fingers crossed. Hopefully that will help a bit.

Hopefully you will hit it right. At the moment the weed in front of us & in the margins isn't really a problem at all but we have got relatively deep water here so it could well be different on other posts that are shallower? Compared to previous years fishing this post the weed is definitely much reduced. Started catching some big tench now,(10 lbs plus), so the rigs & bait are working,...just waiting for the carp to turn up!!

As long as its strong, you'll do fine..
Imo these fish arent as pressured as in the UK, so no need to camouflage..
Seen people catch fish on yellow flourencend braid.

My advice for leads would be to take a full range from 3oz to 12oz and remember that occasionally you could easily be casting to your markers...it's not always about boat work,etc. Also if you are fishing distance don't get pissed off if the pike anglers, etc etc pick up your lines,..it is extremely annoying BUT by rights we shouldn't be fishing in excess of 100 metres...although we all are guilty of doing it.

I'm in post 47, a friend of mine has fished it a lot and said that time of year some of the spots are no more than 20 yards.
I'm well used to the pike anglers, jet skis, boats etc as fished plenty of other public waters.... Found out the hard way once, was on Lac Amance on Bastille Day 🤦🏻♂️😂

The crays werent a problem last week, we had 3 cats all one meatbased baits.
Doesnt mather wich bait u use, the cats will have m.
Just use what your comfortable with.
Weather is more important, no wind is no carp.
Just had one carp last week, not even bad as there were only 2 carp caught the whole week on the main bassin.
30 degrees and no wind, than u can better stay at home..
The mozzies were also from hell, couldnt stay outside after 7 p.m.

One peg is 260 euro yhe deposite is 130. So if you paid the full amount the remaining is 110 for a lincence.

I was in 7 week before last. Last minute trip I booked.
Water still high as normal this time but was dropping nicely every day.
Had 2 carp , couple of cats and lost one. Weather was wind and rain all week which helped I think as speaking to a couple of anglers fishing had been difficult in the week or 2 before.

Haven't fished 43 myself so can't answer the main question, however, have fished 8&9 at that time and water was still really high for the area. Localised weed beds for a bite and anything else you can find for a better one I would think.

Caught carp from both swims. Nothing huge though. Water was still really high, higher than usual. 10 was unfishable with the levels, you would have had to sleep in a tree 😅
We was catching them from close in weed beds on the point between 8&9.
Only catfish when putting rods in deeper water or at range.
