I’ll try and cut a long story short but really need help here lads 🙏
I’ve been through a few bedchairs in the last few seasons (tried sims etc) and after many recommendations for comfort I bought a second hand (mint condition) Trakker Levelite Oval.
The guy I bought it from had back problems and had to give up night fishing. The first night I did on it was awful. It was rock hard and after my session I noticed all the elastics had been pulled up to max firmness (I’m guessing this was done by the previous owner to try and help his back) I have done a few nights on it since and have released some of the tension from the elastics all round but just can’t seem to get comfy on it.
I have tried adjusting the height of both ends, feet and legs higher than the middle and then the other way round and also as flat as the eye can get it. I genuinely can’t see why so many people would recommend it for comfort if to me it’s not very comfortable at all. I HAVE to be missing something here.
I paid £130 for the bed, 3&5 season bags. Trakker moon pillow and the Trakker self inflating mattress. I haven’t tried the SIM on it. I have used them before and know they can help, so it is an option. My gripe is that people rave about the bed without the SIM so what am I doing wrong?
I am predominantly a side sleeper but do wake up on the odd occasion on my back.
If anyone could help I would honestly appreciate it so much. I have to be missing something with this. The oval and solar beds are always the 2 recommendations for comfort. Maybe I am expecting too much but this really doesn’t feel as comfortable as I think it should based on anglers who use them and give it rave reviews.

Firmer beds for back sleepers, softer U shaped bed mattress for side sleepers.
And add a sim for some luxury.

Update….
I’ve been out in the garden and put tension back in the elastics.
I have tried out the Trakker SIM that come with the bed only to find the valve leaks all the air out in about a minute so that’s gone in the bin 🙁
I have ordered a 3/4 length Highland Kip SIM to try on the bed and have figured I can put that between the peach skin sheet and foam mattress so I don’t lay directly on top of it. It’s a bit off a faff as you have to undo the 4 screws and remove the single leg to be able to take the mattress cover off the frame. I really do hope this is the answer! 🤔
