I bought 3 x Power Aero 14000 XTC's last month. They've only been used a couple of times and I noticed when applying the lightest of resistance to the line during retrieve on one of them, it makes a bit of a clicking noise.
I took the spool and line guard off to investigate further and noticed when moving the reel whilst the handle is rotating, it makes a horrible racket. It sometimes does that particular noise with far less movement than I've demonstrated in the video.
I tried the same thing on one of the other two reels and they don't make this noise.
Any thoughts on what the likely cause is?

I managed to get that video to convert after changing the code around a bit, but the audio is Apple proprietary APAC codec and no ffmpeg build ships a decoder for it. Bit of a bummer considering the whole purpose of the video was the sound!
Apparently this is iPhone 15 Pro+/16/17/18 Pro and you've got the 18 Pro Max
So I kind of cheated to get it to work, I saved the video from your iMessage to me, then sent it to myself via WhatsApp, picked the video up on the PC version of WhatsApp and saved to my machine, then uploaded.
Not ideal, but we got there 😎

Were these bought new or second hand. If new then back to the shop and get it swapped.

New. Only a month or two old. Have mailed the shop (Total Fishing), but in the meantime, was interested in what anyone thought the issue was as I’ve not heard anything like this before.

Is that a mark on rotor where the handle has been catching at the end of the video?

Good spot, but no. It's light reflecting off garage lights.
I expanded video to full screen then stepped through the last few frames 👍
His other two don't make that noise.

Does it make the same noise while reverse winding?

Starnzy (my brother) sent me more videos today.
After further investigation one end of the bail arm has some play. Screw/bolt is in as tight as it goes. When you wiggle it, it makes the same sort of noise.
I suggested/guessed a washer missing, so he went and looked at an exploded schematic for the reel, but there is no washer.
He's in talks with TFT .... 🤔

I had a problem with a Shimano Stradic from TFT. Straight out of the box, wierd noise from the gearing, certainly not smooth. They asked for a video and on seeing it said send it back and replaced it within the week.
Very odd re the bail arm given the schematic 🤔 I wonder if the shape of the bail arm holds it under positive tension, has he checked it's not been crushed a bit/is the same as the others?

One of the reels (if I remember correctly) seems fine.
The one in the video is obviously a bit noisy
I think he said the other one suffered a bit of noise too
It makes the noise when reeling in, it's not just something he noticed whilst reeling and doing acrobatic wrist movements in the garage at home 😂... that was just him trying to see if they all done it and trying to diagnose what it might be 🤔
