Also a gardner video that explains it pretty well.

That's the way I do it, was a old video of Terry doing it when explaining his hinge stiff set up from memory.

I've never got on with the two finger method that Lewis shows, here are two variations on the DF way of doing it showing how to make d rigs

Yes, Given the DF whipping knot a try. Some of the tidiest Chod links I've tied. Definitely makes it a bit easier only going through the eye of the hook twice.

Thanks for all of the replies fellas.

This is one of the clearest demos of the Hearn 'twiddler' ? knot ive seen

Snell knot

It could just be me, but you get less wastage with this version compared to the DF as when you tighten, that section becomes the hooklink rather than leaving a v long D/ hair tag end which needs to be trimmed quite a bit.

Also, before tightening fully, remove the main section from the eye and then tighten, dont tighten with the line through the eye or else it will pig tail

That's the only downfall of Danny's whipping knot ( Domhoff knot) is the amount ofmayerial wasted die to the size of the loop need below the shank to whip over the hook. But then again that might be why Danny promotes it.. new spools please

Should try doing it left handed when you are going against the natural curves of the line

I also struggled with the DF 2 finger method and the whipping knot until I found this fox video years back! Knotless knot for me does not sit straight enough out the shank but each to their own
