What hook would you use on a ronnie rig wide gape or long shank in pva bag

Of those two, I'd go for the long shank. But personally, I use a Fox Curve Shank in Size 4.

i've used all sorts of hooks, from gardner Mugga's to ESP Trig-Hammers.

At the moment, on the rare occasion that i use a pop-up, I have gravitated towards Korda Krank size 4's.

I buy the regular ones and sharpen them myself since i have proper jewelers file but the Kama-Kura variant, you will be hard pressed to find sharper out the packet.

Mugga's for me mostly though have also used JP Precision Curves.

I know some will think it's overkill but I tend to always buy the Conti or Euro versions of hooks now, even when fishing in the UK, no compromise on strength for me.

Only hook pulls I've ever had on a ronnie/spinner have been size 4 muggy, and I've had 3 in a season, korda Krank, spinner or Curve hooks for me
