I am having a bit of an issue with my multi combi rigs..

The last 3 fish I have caught the entire hook has gone through the mouth of the fish, any ideas why this is happening? It's not happening in the net, it seems to be happening either on the take or whilst playing the fish.

I have just been cutting my rigs to get it out without making a mess of the fish, but wondering if it's due to the lake been silty so the fish have soft mouths? Is my soft braid section too long?

could be poor hook hold in the first place, I would ensure rig putty on the join and aggressive silicon/shrink to turn hook point into fleshy part.

Like you said, could be their soft mouths aswell.

I will try that. I don't usually use any putty or shot on the hooklink and just use a kicker to hold the hook on.

Have you fished this lake before? I fished a lake where I kept getting double stiched hookholds. I just happened to help someone else land a fish and seem it happen to them too. I asked and it seemed really common on that particular water. Never got to the bottom of it, would even happen on a stiff hinge rig

Yeah, I've fished it a few times..and thinking about it, I had the same issue a few months ago with a solid bag (which was the last fish I caught before these 3). I will ask some of the other anglers if they have had the same issue as it is really silty.
Are you sure?
