i've been tying some PVA bag rigs with Kryston Supernova and Kamakura wide gapes 4 & 6 with a little bit of shrink tube that look quite deadly - anyone else using Kamakuras in bags? any other effective hook patterns ? thoughts on krank/longshank in there?

I personally use a wide gaped size 6 in all my bags.

Muggas. No need for shrink tube or kickers.

I definately notice a difference in less lost fish when using an aggressive piece of tube.

I've been putting Multi-rigs in bags, properly balanced with trimmed down pop-ups or Infusion Naturalz, size 6 Solar 101's.
The hooklink is either a doubled over length of Kryston Jackal or Merlin so I can create the whole hooklink with one length of material.

I do it with a Ronnie rig on a short braid and have had a few 20's and a high double out using it

I use braid and a size 6 krank but not the kamakura version. I hate clutter on rigs and a standard knottless knot to a krank hook does the job.

Another for the multi rig with the the coated braid stripped from the knot backwards completely so basically a supple braid with coated braid multi rig section and choddie style hook.

Been using solid bags a fair bit lately, along with chods they are very good for overnighters.
I tend to avoid over-sharpened hooks because I think they are so attractive to everything they tend to get messed with a bit - might just be in my head though!
I have always used a wide-gape type pattern with just a very short line-aligner on supple braid, but been trying longshanks lately as I do like the Nash pinpoint ones, they are sharp and relatively fine-pointed for a heavy wire, unsharpened hook. Can't say I have noticed any difference, if anthing the hookholds are less consistent in terms of where they hook them, but does that mean I'm hooking more fish or just as many but less securely... ?

Ive used both the Krank and Wide gape's in 4's and 6's, although tend to prefer 6's these days. Cant say Ive noticed a difference in either pattern, but I do use a multi-rig with supernatural and the Korda kickers. Multi rig is ideal with Kamakura's as they blunt on every capture, and I'd say 30% of retrieves - more if it's a weedy water. I have a lot of confidence in Kamakura's, but it does work out quite expensive. My syndicate is straight shank hooks only now, so kranks are no longer an option, but, wide gapes with a kicker work well too. Also, use a sinker on a short 4-5" hook link to help the hook turn
