Gents
Can anyone recommend a super stiff coated link please? Have been using the ESP Tungsten loaded in X-Stiff and feel its not quite stiff enough.
Have been using 24mm baits to avoid tench and bream and the hooklink sometimes comes back twisted.
Do not want a flurocarbon as i'm certain the eels tend to kink them.
thanks

I like the PB stuff. Skinless it's called. Can't compare with your esp Tungsten...

I know what you mean by the X-Stiff, when i went to tie up a rig I thought what is stiff about this.
The stiffest standard coated braids I've used are Ridgemonkey Camo-X Stiff, Gardner Ultra Skin Stiff and PB Skinless.
I know you didn't want a standard fluorocarbon but if you are after something a bit different then Rig Marole's Hydrolink Extreme is also very stiff. It's a stiff 20lb Fluro/chod material coated in braid and like the normal Hydrolink you remove the inner fluoro to create the supple section.

Not sure if this is up your street.. But thinking anglers think link in 30lb is good. It's stiff enough to kick away from the lead but supple enough I don't think it'll kink. It's of course not a coated braid but I use it on a crayfish infested water with weed and it does a great job..

I'm still using Kryston Snakeskin and Snakebite. It's usually a long search through ebay as many tackle shops are out of stock.
It is brilliant when eels are a pain playing with chub and barbel hooklinks on the river
When I heard Dave Chilton was selling Kryston I bought every spool of Merlin and Mantis they had in Gladwells, and I'm glad I did.

I did wonder what happened to Kryston, they had everything covered back in the day, I Didn't use any other brand until suffix brought out stealth skin

Other than Amnesia and Fluorocarbon I haven't used any other hooklink material than Kryston since the 1990's.
When Dave Chilton sold up I bought loads of Kryston hooklink materials in my preferred breaking strains, still got a bit in my tackle box, from Samson hair braid, Merlin, Mantis, Jackal, Snakebite and Snakeskin. Their PVA Meltdown was also the best PVA string and their Heavy Metal the best putty. When I run out of their bits I'm going to have to find items as good.

I've only got a bit of heavy metal left now! And I still use silkworm when using braid.

personally a huge fan of the TA Camstiff in 35lb, but this still may not be stiff enough for your chosen application,
the very stiffest coated braid i have ever seen / used was the Korda Hybrid stiff. only downfall to that is it needing to be crimped, not knotted.

I have a few spools of each in the cupboard still, including mantis gold. I tend to use 30lb flurocarbon and whip soft braid to it now for hook links where I want everything stiffer
