Had a massive clear out of the tackle box and decided need to settle on one pattern of hook
which can turn be used for different materials inc fluro etc.
think a straight eye/ a curve is going to be the way to go

Personally I'd go with a chod style hook, out turned eye.
When used with soft braid a kicker or bit of shrink tubing can be used to recreate the effect of an inturned eye.

You are going to get different answers!
If I had to use one type of hook it would be a straight shank, Solar 101 in size 4 or 6.
I use them on Combi-rigs, Multi-rigs, D-rigs, knotless knotted and line aligned with braid, coated braid and on the rare occasions I use it fluorocarbon.
However, there are times on particular waters where a curved shank hook gets better hookholds

Sounds like me at the start of every season and by the back end of the year I've got 20 packets of hooks again in different sizes and patterns.
I wish I could trim right down to a few items of end tackle always start with good intentions but never managed to keep it that way, my one mate has all his end tackle in a pop-up pot I think he must be related to Paul Daniels.

Thing is you might need to consider fishery rules as well as other anglers opinions, and what hooks are available still.
Some fisheries don't like or ban longshanks, or curved hooks, what suits my fishing on a silty lake a critically balanced on a Multi-rig may well be (in fact is) totally different to the hook I'd use on a bottom bait or snowman.
I still use VMC longshanks on a few rigs, got some tied up for harder patches on the lake.
So all in all although you might find a curved pattern you love, a fishery might not allow them, so you might need to have other hook types.
Or occasionally on some waters, your favoured rig just doesn't work. Like no matter what, I simply can't get a take on a Ronnie rig with a Gardner Mugga on the water I'm on, yet a Multi-rig with a Solar 101 does produce. The Mugga however does produce with snowman baits on braid and coated braid, but not with fluorocarbon.
