I have been watching a few videos recently on YouTube and the bloke uses a wide gap with a multi rig I normally use a beaked point chod hook but I do like the way it turns and sits with a wide gape and a small bit of shrink tube slid over the eye anyone use a wide gape on a multi rig?

Take a look at Julian Cundiff's video on the Multi Rig, it's very detailed and he uses it in a similar way with shrink tube.

Not quite what you asked, but I use a Solar 101 in size 4 or 6 with a small piece of silicon tubing on the shank of the hook to keep the ring in place and stop the loop pulling tight.
My hooklink material is usually Kryston Jackal with that. Works a treat I had a 23.12 on it last week, hooked perfectly centre of the lip with a couple of small meshed 8mm pop-ups tied to the rig ring.

Yes. Have done for years, korda widegapes with a bit of silicon long enough to cover both the knot and the eye of the hook, fished with a loop just about big enough to get the hook looped on. Worked well for me, actually found after changing from a chods type pattern the hook holds improved and don't have the worry in the back of my mind if the loop ever slipping on big casts, which on the rare occasion did used to happen.
Are you sure?
