Looking for the best way to prevent the D section of the rig from tangling around the hook? I have used a pva mesh bag but always worried the pva won't go completely and stop the full movement of the D. Any ideas?

2 ways I use it. Heavy baits like an 18mm snowman set up, or I tie a small knot of Pva tape around the soft D and hook and pull it up to the bait. Never had tangled in doing so.

Just pinch a PVA nugget around it to trap the bait in place. The PVA nugget will break off and pop to the surface and shouldn't leave any residue to effect the rig at all.

Yea again will work fine just seen too many horror stories of the nuggets not coming off but there's likely more times it does. At a guess when it's been over pinched. At least with the Pva take it's still fishing either way

Johnsonross did a video on Facebook I think about the perfect way to put a nugget on and I've used it ever since they always come off that way

Even if you use PVA or a nugget to stop it tangling around the hook shank, it only needs to be ejected once or moved about by smaller fish and it can still tangle. This is why I stopped using a slip d. I have also done some tank tests with a slip d and a critically balance bait. The bait pulls the D tight and causes the hook to sit awkwardly. People do well on them, but be aware of these draw backs.

I've used slip D and multirig and never had a problem.
Make sure the D is not too short
