What do you use instead of Mouth Trap on your hook length

I like to use the stiffest so it holds it shape and found Thinking Anglers Recoil in 30lb works best for me.

Same TA recoil or fox rigidity in 30lb nice and stiff, doesn't mark up too easily, if Korda did mouthtrap in 30lb I'd use it shame they don't

I really rate the thinking anglers recoil too. I've used Korda , and esp versions for many years befire. The recoil is the only one I'll use now

Are you finding it straightens out when casting hard? If so you could add some pva to connect the hook and the swivel, thus preserving the curve on the hook link.

Ive always found esp's best, but thats probably because thats the only one ive used 😂 im terrible for sticking with the original stuff. Although i do find the 20lb version the best. 25 is too thick and the 15 isnt stiff enough in my opinion.

I've used lots of different chod materials over the years and for me mouthtrap takes some beating , it has virtually no memory and can be reshaped with no problem

Still don't think you can beat the original esp bristle filament. Harder to work with but keeps its curve better than most.

I'm lazy and use the Nash Pinpoint readymades. Used them on some weedy lakes in France, and some silty lakes here and had no issues. Hand on heart, no hookpulls yet. I put that down to using 1.5oz leads, and making sure I tie a knot in the leader about 4inches above the lead so the bottom bead cannot pull down to the lead during the fight.
