Hi l'm fishing a swallow silty lake using a lead clip and long surplus hooklink and leads 1.5 -2oz upto about 70 yds max and probably only about 4 foot deep so was wondering what lead shape is best so it doesn't plug in to much.
Thanks in advance

Flat pears or grippers have been good for me in the silt, fished silty lakes in the north west my whole life.

I've always favoured a Flat Pear also, but depending on how you want to fish it and stock ( also presence of 'nuisance' fish), you could always try using a method feeder (some have a flat bottom so it lands the way you want), with scorched pellets or groundbait on it to add attraction to the area.

Thanks for the replies lads looks like l'll go with the flat pear then, yes it's only a low stock of carp well out numbered by the Tench & Bream which l catch regular so just trying to get anything as spot on as l can.
