After some of the recent threads on here, I thought I might give a chod rig a try so added the chod safety system from Bank tackle to my last order.

Chod System

The beads arrived but how the hell do you get them on the leader? The holes in the barrel and cone part are tiny, probably only 0.4mm (can just about get some 0.37mm mono through it). My baiting needle looks far too big, is there a special needle I need to use?

I use a splicing needle, but go very slowly and wet the bead and lead core as you do it, if you don't wet it the friction will wear away the cone part .

Get some Esp 0.75 silicone tube and put a 10mm section on leadcore with a baiting needle and most 4- 5mm beads should sit perfectly on it and release easily under slight pressure.

use a needle and lots if moisture. Make sure you pull it in through the wide end first otherwise you'll split the tail end

Use a korda purple or red baiting needle. Plenty of spit be fine.
